Synopsis: The cloture vote on S 311 the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act has failed with all Democrats, except three voting ‘nay.’ Pennsylvania’s two senators did vote the right way!
The cloture vote (the requirement of 60 votes in order to end debate on a bill and advance it for a vote on the floor) on S 311, the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, failed with a vote of 53-44 in the US Senate.
Only three Democrats voted ‘yea’ – Senator Bob Casey, Jr. (D-PA), Doug Jones (D-AL) and Joe Manchin (D-WV). No Republicans voted ‘nay,’ however three did not vote – Kevin Cramer (R-ND), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Tim Scott (R-SC)
Thank Senators Bob Casey, Jr. and Pat Toomey for voting to protect babies who are born alive after a failed abortion.
