Below are the latest updates from John Pisciotta, Director of Pro-Life Waco.
1. 40 DAYS FOR LIFE KICKOFF IN WACO
The kick was good!
100 life-defenders put on their layers of clothes and joined the 40 Days for Life Waco kickoff rally. We started with plenty of hot coffee, treats, and conversation. Smiling and laughing seemed to make us feel warmer. The event was planned by Aine Fitzgerald, the director of 40 Days for Life Waco. Speakers at the event were Aine Fitzgerald and Bob Lehman of Pro-Life Waco. Also, Deborah McGregor of CareNet Pregnancy Center of Central Texas and Rev Ronnie Holmes of Church of the Open Door. Pro-Life Waco and CareNet cosponsors of 40 Days for Life. Let us pray for abundant fruit from 40 Days for Life in Waco and the world. Waco is one of the 377 cities worldwide launching 40 Days for Life on this day. Thanks to the terrific 40 Days for Life international team for providing the glue and encouragement for this life-saving soul-nurturing ministry.
Here is one photo from the Kickoff. See more at the end of this newsletter.
2. Pro-Life Waco in the weeks ahead
So much will be happening. I pray you find one or more outreach events for you to stand up for the little ones who need about 20 more months of life before each will be able to stand up all by his or herself with a big smile and the approval of others.
3. The Abby Johnson movie is coming to Waco!! One free showing
Everything is set in Waco for the Abby Johnson story under the title of “Unplanned.” The movie will be released in Waco and in 800 other theaters nationwide on Friday, March 29. And here’s the BIG news. On Thursday, March 28 at 7 AM, Pro-Life Waco and Care Net will sponsor a pre-free prerelease showing of this terrific movie. You don’t need to pay anything. However, do need to make a reservation. Let us know your name and how many people are in your group with an email to prolifewacoRSVP@gmail.com
4. Free 40 Days for Life Yard signs
You can get one at all Pro-Life Waco events, including 40 Days for Life. Or pick up your sign(s) at my doorstep at 4200 Grim Avenue. How would you like to do something for the cause of pre-born babies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week? You can with a yard sign.
5. Second Sunday Ecumenical Pro-Life Gathering. March 10
We can look back at the first few days of 40 Days for Life and forward to the weeks ahead. The Second Sunday Luncheon Meeting is held at St. Mary’s Parish Hall, 1424 Columbus Ave. An Italian buffet luncheon is served during the noon hour and is just three dollars. Children are welcome. From 1 to 2 PM our program focuses on what we can do together to turn moms from abortion to life and love. For questions contact John Pisciotta at 644-0407. As senior chef of this monthly event, I will try to make the meal on March 10 extra special.
