The Litany of Life from The Catholic Feminist

Lord Jesus. Lord and giver of life, Hear me.
The unborn children who will lose their lives today, Save them, Jesus.
The millions of people trapped in the chains of slavery, Save them, Jesus.
The elderly around the world who are neglected and ignored, Save them, Jesus.
The souls on Death Row who will soon have their lives taken, Save them, Jesus.
The women considering immoral means of achieving a pregnancy out of a true,
good desire for children, Save them, Jesus.
The people around us who silently struggle with mental illness and depression,
Save them, Jesus.
The mothers who are suffering from postpartum depression and contemplating
suicide, Save them, Jesus.
The refugees caught in warzones with little hope of escape, Save them, Jesus.
The homeless who live on our streets and don’t know where their next meal
comes from, Save them, Jesus.
The nurses and doctors who prescribe contraception and perform abortions, Save
them, Jesus.
The pro-choice advocates with a real heart for women’s issues, Save them, Jesus.
The politicians who consistently struggle with valuing the most vulnerable among
us, Save them, Jesus.
The patients in hospitals suffering from painful chronic diseases, Save them,
Jesus.
The disabled who suffer immensely and are often made to feel worthless, Save
them, Jesus.
The victims of violent crimes and the unborn children who are sometimes
produced as a result, Save them, Jesus.
From my own hardness of heart, Deliver me, Jesus.
From my selfishness and desire to store up treasure on earth, Deliver me, Jesus.
From my willful ignorance and lack of compassion, Deliver me, Jesus.
From my lack of understanding of complex societal issues, Deliver me, Jesus.
From my own pride, Deliver me, Jesus.
From my lack of trust in You and Your goodness, Deliver me, Jesus.
