1. No Second Sunday Gathering on May 12.
Of course, we defer to moms on their special day. Please enjoy Mother’s Day and mark your calendar for June 9 for our next Second Sunday Ecumenical Pro-Life Gathering. I realize it will be difficult for you to go two months without the aroma and taste of Chef Giovanni’s authentic Italian sauce and meatballs. You can do it.

2. The Last Life-Defender outreach over Interstate 35 in Waco, May 11, 10 to noon.
Destruction has already begun for the 5-year chaos of rebuilding I-35 through Waco. Soon I-35 reconstruction will bring the pedestrian overpass near Baylor crashing down. However, we do have one historic overpass outreach left, Saturday, May 11, 10 to noon.

Will you be there?

You are invited to be part of this historic final I-35 outreach, holding G-rated pro-life signs for thousands of travelers to see. We pray our messages will turn an abortion-minded mom to a decision for life. To get to the overpass from downtown Waco, take South 8th Street to its dead end at I-35, near Panera Bread. When the outreach is over, Pro-Life Waco will provide a “last luncheon” at Panera Bread for all.

Historical note. The first overpass outreach was on January 22, 2014, the day commemorating the beginning of the slaughter of the innocents in the United States. The weather for this first overpass event was horrible very cold, rainy, high winds. I think there were eight of us out there for this event. If you are one of the eight you may also have a free dessert this Saturday after the last overpass outreach. Weather conditions will be fine.

3. A DONATION IN HONOR OF YOUR MOM FOR MOTHER’S DAY.
Pro-life Waco has been a leader in the battle against abortion and Planned Parenthood in Waco for nearly 25 years. I ask you for a one-time or monthly donation in honor of your mother to Pro-Life Waco to help us defend pre-born babies and moms from dozens of Texas counties. Mother’s Day is May 12.

With no wages or salaries paid, all your donation will go directly to life defender outreach. For example, the cost of our two huge billboards facing abortion-minded moms traveling HWY 6 in either direction is $1595 per month. You can donate by sending a check to PLW, 4200 Grim Ave., Waco, TX 76710 or donate online by clicking this link:  https://www.prolifewaco.com/ and click on the red “Support Us” button.

PS I enjoy life-defender outreach much more than seeking financial support. However, I believe the outreach of Pro-Life Waco is one of the most important Christian ministries in Central Texas. And since some of our outreach is contentious, e.g. protest of WACOAN magazine advertising for abortion and PP, the sphere of our potential donors is limited. We need YOU. (And we do not publicize the names of our donors.)

4. Waco Trib editorial blasts PLW’s I-35 overpass outreach.
Again. An editorial in the Waco Tribune-Herald critical of defenders of babies in the womb. This one hit real close to home with a blast at PLW foot soldiers engaged in Interstate 35 pedestrian overpass outreach for the last five years. That would be Pro-Life Waco. Ashley Bean Thornton wrote under the title, “Feeling alone beneath the I-35 pedestrian bridge.” Happily, we can be reminded that the Bible calls it an honor to be criticized standing up for the teachings of Jesus Christ. Pro-Life Waco has had a very honorable month. Here’s a link to the Trib editorial.
I ask for letters to the editor to the Waco Tribune-Herald. Send to:  letters@wacotrib.com

5. Love Life Chain was super on a sunny day.
First Sunday Love Life Chain, under the leadership of Ellen and Stan Staniszewski, keeps getting better and better. Attendance ranges from outstanding to great. We had 20 participating, including four new foot soldiers. We had a great time and, is always, a terrific response. We are thankful for those inspired to give us a negative hand sign and pray for their redemption.
