Inspiration from the NE Philly Sidewalk

The following is from an email blast sent out by Anita Flynn.

Here is an inspiring story that simply tells how the pro-life dedication of one couple is witnessed by others.  Thank you to Kim Heuser who emailed me these details – your words said it all.  And you are so right – Dave and Betty Maier are truly an inspiration for all of us to do what we can to turn the tide against abortion and it’s routine acceptance by society.

This morning at Comly Road a man got off the bus in front of us and came over to thank us for being there every week.  He was in a wheelchair and had only one leg and was an Army vet.  He shook Dave’s hand and thanked him especially for being there.  He also said how it just wasn’t right what they do in there.  Also, last Wednesday a man stopped his car and got out and walked right over to Dave and shook his hand and thanked him for always being there and gave him a Silver Star for his service.  Afterward, Dave said you never think anyone is noticing us here every week and how it was a blessing that those two men went out of their way to thank us.

I left this morning at 8 and it still wasn’t opened and was hoping that it wouldn’t open today because it is Dave and Betty’s 65th Wedding Anniversary today.  They said how God has blessed them with a Wonderful marriage and life!  God bless both of them.  They are an inspiration for all of us.

You can share a similar experience when you take part in our prayer vigils as 40 Days approaches.
