The following is from Mike McGonigle’s email blast. McGonigle is one of the founders of Generation Life.
Are you willing to participate in a Public Witness against the U.S. Constitution Center’s presentation of the 2019 Liberty Medal to former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy? This public witness would occur from 4:00-6:00 PM (the Award Ceremony begins at 5:00 PM) on Sunday, October 27, 2019, on Arch Street between 5th and 6th Streets, an area for which we would have a permit from the U.S. Park Service.
Our Public Witness would consist of
The announcement of this Award (copy attached) indicated that a primary reason for this presentation is Kennedy’s decisive June 28, 1992 vote in Planned Parenthood v. Casey. This 5-4 decision transferred the “right to abortion” to the 14th Amendment’s “Right to Liberty” with the deadly and bizarre reasoning of, “At the heart of liberty is the right to define one’s own concept of existence…” I am attaching Christopher West’s excellent critique of this reasoning, which simply means, “Might makes right.”
Under the leadership of Rep. Steven Freind, and with Gov. Bob Casey’s support, Pa. would have restored legal protection to most mothers and children from abortion had Kennedy kept to his original vote in Casey to reverse Roe v. Wade. Many other states would have followed Pa.’s lead. So, Anthony Kennedy is responsible for many millions of additional children being killed and mothers being injured by abortion.
Thus, the U.S. Constitution Center’s Award to Anthony Kennedy is a de facto celebration of child-killing. I submit that we in the Philadelphia area pro-life movement have an obligation to organize and lead this response. I am attaching a preliminary promotional flyer to promote participation in this public witness. Please inform me if you are willing to participate and to ask others to participate in this Public Witness.
Are you willing to assist in the distribution of a Pro-Life Voter Guide for the November 5, 2019, General Election?
This Election features a statewide contest for two Superior Court Judgeships between pro-life Republicans Megan McCarthy King and Christylee Peck versus pro-abortion Democrats Amanda Green-Hawkins and Daniel McCaffery. I submit that the Pa. pro-life movement should engage in this distribution for at least two reasons.
This effort mainly consists of placing a Pro-Life Voter Guide in the door handle or crack between the driver’s door and the rest of the vehicle on vehicles parked for Sunday Masses or Services for pro-life Protestant Churches for Sunday, October 20, 27 and/or November 3, 2019.
Please inform me of the extent of your willingness to engage in this effort. I would then provide you with the Pro-Life Voter Guides directly or through your local coordinator.
I am not preparing any Pro-Life Voter Guides for local races.
Please consider favorably participating in these activities and I look forward to your response.
