The following is from Jeanne Marcini, President of the March for Life Foundation.
Like all of you, my team and the work of the March for Life has been dramatically impacted by the sweeping effects of the coronavirus outbreak. With the health and safety of so many at risk, we have made difficult but necessary decisions about how to carry on with our mission while caring for the vulnerable. As a result, we have canceled the Connecticut March for Life originally scheduled for April 15th and transitioned our team to work remotely.
But despite tumultuous events, the fight to build a culture of life continues. Together with our pro-life allies on Capitol Hill, we continue to monitor all legislation presented in Congress to ensure pro-life policies are protected. In addition, my team and I have adjusted our advocacy efforts so that we can help you defend the unborn while at home!
Here are a few examples of ways we are working to bring advocacy online:
1) Capitol Hill 101 Goes Digital
We have adapted our legislative training seminar, Capitol Hill 101 so that while you’re at home, you can learn more about the legislative process and how to promote effective pro-life policies. The country may be slowing down around us, but most lawmakers are still working (or, at the very least, checking their email). We can all take this time to capture their attention.
Capitol Hill 101 will show you how!
2) Learn how to lobby for pro-life legislation on social media
In addition to office emails and phone calls, we know there is one place you can be sure to get your legislator’s attention: social media. Our social media team put together a new guide for you to make the most of the time at home by showing you how to advocate for life while on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
3) Join me for a virtual watch party of the award-winning short film “Crescendo”
While we can’t gather together in person, we can still unite virtually! I’d love for you to join me for a virtual watch party of the internationally acclaimed film, Crescendo, on Friday, March 27th at 7 PM EST. We’ll be joined by the film’s producer Jason Jones and actress Jennifer Cadena, who will be answering your questions after the film and sharing more ideas about how you can promote life while at home.
