The following is a report from Kathy Kuhns of Pro-Life Berks on the National Bridges Day that was held last Friday, June 26th. A few pictures are provided below.
Thanks to all who came out yesterday for the National Pro-Life Bridges Day. We had about 20 people there, with lots of flags, along with our pro-life banners. Pro-Life Berks (PLB) will look into getting another large banner, so we can better cover both sides of the overpass. Traffic was heavy and we got plenty of honks, waves and a thumbs up from several. Always a fun event. Plan to join us next time. Today’s Reading Eagle had a picture and article about the event.
Watch for the mega SCOTUS decisions coming up shortly; mainly, the June Medical vs. Ruzzo which is huge for the pro-life cause. Lord help us.
The Wall Street Journal had, on Wed., June 25th, a scathing article on Gov. Wolf, including his picture. It was good to see his dirty deeds so exposed. The newspaper also had an ad in on Tues., the 24th paid for by Planned Parenthood. The article touted, “Birth Control is Good for Business: Essential for a healthy workforce, economic growth, race and gender equity. More on this in the July newsletter.
Get ready to help with the upcoming elections Of course we want to support our national candidates; but look to especially help our local candidates, such as Annette Baker who is running against Judy Schwank – strong pro-abort- for state senate. Annette is totally pro-life. Also, Vince Gagliardo, who is running for Tom Caltagirone’s seat who is also pro-life. He’s running against Manny Guzman, who is pro-abortion. What makes this race so important is that the 127th Legislative District includes Planned Parenthood, so this is really the first time we can alert the voters of this district about the a pro-life candidate who opposes the evil Planned Parenthood. Caltagirone, voted pro-life often, but tolerated much of what PP did. Remember the adage: all politics is local. Still true.
This is the year to be involved in the election process. So often, sad to say, pro-life people and others ask themselves, “what’s in it for me?”, before getting involved. It’s not about money, fame and power; still strong motivators. We all need to think, “big picture”, which is our freedom and the blessings of being a U.S. citizen. So, start telling your family and friends about our great candidates and plan to get involved.
