Join the 40 Days for Life Fall Campaign in Chester County

In just a few weeks the 40 Days for Life Fall Campaign will begin.  Rachel Hayes, Leader for Chester County, Pennsylvania is asking for committed, pro-life prayer warriors to join them at the West Chester Planned Parenthood to pray for an end to abortion at this facility and across the country.  Please read Rachel’s post below and if you live in or around this area, sign up to join this campaign.

It was a temptation to begin this missive with the opening paragraph from A Tale of Two Cities, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…” but I know for some that it would bring on spasms of pain. I admit, it’s one of my favorite books, and that opening paragraph is a gem in a first chapter that’s a bit hard to slog throughIf you can bear one short paragraph though, it’s more than fitting.

So, I have sobering news and encouraging news to share with hopes that both will serve to help each one of us to “not grow weary in doing good” when it comes to standing in opposition to the horror of abortion. Please consider the sobering reality of what has transpired over these past months since the early closing of the spring campaign, and also the encouraging opportunities before us, so that you might strengthen your resolve to pray in earnest on behalf of abortion-vulnerable moms and their at-risk babies.

The entire time that schools, businesses, and churches have been severely restricted and/or closed from the beginning of the pandemic up until now, West Chester Planned Parenthood suspended in person appointments for all other services except for killing unborn children. In other words, taking innocent human life was deemed essential by our state government during a health crisis while we were being urged to protect ourselves and others via quarantine, masks, and social distancing. Furthermore, at the beginning of the pandemic when personal protective equipment shortages were a concern, Planned Parenthood solicited PPE donations so that they could continue killing unhindered. PP also illegally applied for and received money from the Paycheck Protection Program even though abortion providers were explicitly excluded from these monies. Lastly, WC PP has recently added a chemical only abortion day on Thursdays in addition to the regular surgical abortion day on Fridays.

The encouraging news is that the Good News of the gospel has continued to be shared unabated outside WC PP.  PP volunteer escorts have been absent since the early stay-at-home orders up until just the past couple of weeks. On many weeks, the numbers of cars were low in the parking lot on abortion day. Each abortion day, women have been lifted in prayer by faithful prayer warriors who have continued their in-person outreach of love, hope, and help. Just today a life was saved because people were present and praying, a young woman and her mother were bathed in prayer, offered help & hope, received information, and made a personal connection with a sidewalk counselor. Thank you, Jesus! Please pray for this young mom and baby.

This is why our prayers and presence are needed outside of West Chester Planned Parenthood – lives and souls a the line every week. The largest ever fall 40 Days for Life campaign of prayer & fasting, peaceful vigil, and community outreach is happening in 588 cities across the globe: Wednesday, September 23 through Sunday, November 1st! Come out and add to the growing number of blessings: 17,226 babies saved, 206 abortion workers quit, and 107 abortion facilities closed.

Would you make time in your schedule and commit to one hour of vigil over the 40 Days campaign? Our goal is to have two people present 7am – 7pm, Mon. – Sat. You can sign up now: www.40daysforlife.com/chestercounty

‘If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small. Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not repay man according to his work?’ (Proverbs 24:10-12)

May God give us the strength to stand strong and continue doing good in these days of adversity knowing that “in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” God is hearing our cries for an end to abortion in West Chester and he is with us.

Thank you for your support, prayers, and participation!
