Again and again they struck him on the head with a staff and spit on him. Falling on their knees, they paid homage to him. They stripped off his clothes and began to mock him, saying: “All hail, King of the Jews.” Mark 15:19
Jesus, the Son of God, was stripped of His clothes before a sinful crowd. As the soldiers mocked Our Lord and hurled insults, He stood silent.
When we approach the holiness and reflect on the price Jesus paid for our sins, our souls are laid bare before him. There is no use hiding those sins. As we confess them, one by one, He takes His nail-scarred hand and wipes them clean. His love and forgiveness encourages us to continue on the journey toward sanctification through His sacrifice He paid on the cross.
