Witness from Sidewalk Servant

The following is from an email blast sent by Deborah regarding an encounter a sidewalk servant witnessed outside of Planned Parenthood

One of the Sidewalk Servants, Bob, shared a story about a young lady they encountered last Thursday at 12th & Locust, and we wanted to share it with you. Please take a few moments to read it; this woman’s comment “I wish you had been here when I came before” is just heart wrenching… It is an encouragement for all of us to give a little of our time to be there for each woman and baby; they need us… Our presence can make all the difference! Please give a couple of hours of your time this week, and ask family and friends to join you or to sign up for a time also.  God bless you!
His story:
At 12th and Locust this AM, Rose approached and I offered her a brochure, pointed to the Community Women’s Center of Philadelphia (Women’s Center) next doorand suggested she could get care that did not include abortion there.  She was a beautiful and very mature young lady.  She smiled knowingly and said she thought she was pregnant, that she had taken the first part of the chemical abortion but thought it had failed.  She spoke of immediate regret upon doing so and said she was happy to be pregnant.
I expressed my hope and joy at that possibility, and encouraged her to go next door.  We also gave her the Natural Womens’ Health material from Dr. Monique. But she proceeded anyway to go into Planned Parenthood. I cautioned her to be careful that she not listen to untruths in Planned Parenthood.
I then called the Women’s Centernumber to prepare them in the event she came out.  When I was returning to the sidewalk in front of the Planned Parenthood, I saw Rose speaking with Bob G, another Sidewalk Servant who was there with me.  Bob was very encouraging and loving as he learned from her that, despite testing positive for pregnancy at home, she had tested negative in PP.  I also tried to be comforting, asking her to google Rachel’s Vineyard which she proceeded to do.  We also encouraged her to visit the Women’s Center, to consult on her situation and perhaps be re-tested.  She did, but before leaving us she looked at us with big, beautiful brown eyes and said “I wish you had been here when I came before”.  My heart aches.
Please encourage folks to continue to come out to pray and be there for these women. I found her story so encouraging. The women need us there!  Let’s be there for them.
Thanks to Pat and others for all they have done to be present during the first and hopefully only COVID storm in Phila.
Please pray for Rose.
Bob

AMAZING OPPORTUNITY TO EXERCISE YOUR PRO-LIFE VIEWS

The following is from Dr. Monique Ruberu that was copied and posted to the blog with her consent. He is asking for help from two moms in the Philly/SJ area who are choosing life through the abortion pill reversal hotline.

I am in touch with the moms of 2 of my recent abortion reversals..

One lives in Ocean County, NJ. The other lives in downtown Philly

I am looking for a few dedicated people to be a part of these women’s support team…

It would involve volunteering to be a part of a group that is willing to walk with this mom and show her love and support..

It could be as simple as letting her know you are her constant prayer support and sending her letters and cards with supportive words and advice

It could be helping to set up an online baby shower or birthday party for the little one

One person in the group will volunteer to be the lead, making initial contact with the mom, identifying any needs she may have and bringing them back to the group to see how the group can help… if the group doesn’t have the resources in their own circle they will bring the need to me and we will find the help she needs through the larger pro-life community.

It may be finding someone that can help the mom with life skills or resume building… it could be anything… just trying to build a supportive loving PRAYERFUL community around this mom so she knows she is not alone.

Let me know if you would like to be a part of either of these teams and if you are interested in being the lead

** If you feel called to help, please email Dr. Monique Ruberu at roobearoo@hotmail.com

Praying for two moms who walked away from PA’s worst abortion center

The following is from Tom Stevens, the Director of the Pro-Life Union of Greater Philadelphia

Please pray!

Like Mary and Elizabeth …

As I was praying at Philadelphia Women’s Center (Pennsylvania’s worst abortion clinic) last Friday, two young girls came out of the abortion center and when they caught my eye, one asked if I was protesting.  I said, “I’m praying and I’m here to help.”  She said,  “I don’t want an abortion but I already have a two-year-old, and I don’t want to have a baby suffer.”  I said, “Everybody suffers, but everybody has a lot of wonderful moments in life, too.  I can’t solve all your problems, but I am here to help and we have a team of people who are ready to support you and your baby.”

When I asked how far along she was, she said, “Look, I’m 17 weeks.”  She lifted her jacket and showed me her belly.  There was no doubt.  I asked what she was doing here.  She said she and her sister were getting information about the ‘procedure’ and scheduling an abortion for Tuesday (tomorrow).  She said she wouldn’t go through with it.  Her sister, who is 10 weeks pregnant, said she wouldn’t do it either.  Praise God!

PLEASE PRAY that they stick with their intention to choose life.

Marlene Downing, Dir. of Hope Pregnancy Center, and Member of Pro-Life Union Board of Directors, is helping me in counseling them, searching for housing, and providing for material needs.

THIS IS A TIME of GRACE … even in the midst of the pandemic, shut-down, and the increased atmosphere of fear.  God is on the move.

Let’s all join in praying for great grace for moms discovering that they are pregnant right now … and pray for all those who are serving them.

Be at peace and know that the Lord is good.

Saves During Holy Week/Call to Action

The following is from an email sent out by Dr. Monique Ruberu.

Dear friends,

some quick good news for you.
1. on Good Friday we got news of a girl Pat had encountered outside of PP at 12th and locust who chose life. We are in the process of getting her situated with housing and then we will be looking for a team to walk with her going forward.
2. Yesterday I heard about another girl who took the abortion pill at 12th and locust whose fiancée found info about Abortion pill reversal and they started the process to try and save their twin babies last night… please pray for its success… if all goes well we will be putting together a team to walk with this family in the  Philly area as well.
3. Although the prayer was disbanded by police on Good Friday morning a few of the prayer warriors were able to reconvene and pray at 777 with no problems from the police we normally work with and love.
please consider calling Philadelphia license and inspection
2156830580
2156850582

and advising that they shut down these abortion centers during this pandemic which are using valuable PPE, putting the lives of the workers and patients at risk while doing elective terminations.
4. if any of you would like to continue prayer with a MAX of 1 or two people an hour outside of these two downtown abortion centers, we will be restarting sidewalk servants on a Tuesday of this week.
if you want to be included on that list to continue getting awesome updates and volunteering some time in prayer let me know.

Alicia Keys Revealed How She Chose Life for Second Child

In an April 2nd article from The Blaze, Alicia Keys revealed how she chose life for her child.

Grammy Award-winning singer Alicia Keys felt overwhelmed when she learned she was pregnant with her second child. She and her husband, music producer Kasseem Dean (known professionally as Swizz Beatz), were at an extremely busy stage in their lives and careers, and a new baby could derail all of that.

Her husband was about to go to Harvard Business School. She had an album to put out. Her lifestyle simply wasn’t a good fit for another child, Keys said she told her doctor at the time.

“I wasn’t ready for this, which is what I told the doctor,” Keys wrote in an excerpt from her upcoming book, “More Myself,” which she shared with People. “‘This is the worst time ever. I’m working on my next album. My husband just got into Harvard Business School. And I’ve been drinking—a lot.’ I left her office feeling so torn.

“The music I was creating felt more important and urgent than just about everything. I’d have to put off its release for at least a year if I chose to have the baby,” Keys wrote.

Her dilemma is one felt by many women who get pregnant, especially those who may lack the resources and support of a famous singer. Many women and couples feel that they just can’t manage to have a child, so they choose abortion. Others fear having a child will keep them from pursuing their goals in life.

But the argument for choosing life is the same for everyone, and Keys and her husband ultimately chose that path once she realized the inherent value and potential of an unborn child.

“While I was struggling over my choice, I went into the studio one evening and began listening to ‘More Than We Know,’ a song Swizz and I had written,” Keys wrote. “The lyrics are about how we’re capable of so much more than we can ever imagine. My eyes filled with tears. How could I take away the potential for this beautiful child, this light that could touch others in ways I couldn’t dream of. For me, the song was a powerful message that I should go on with the pregnancy.”

Keys also wrote that the realization that her mother considered abortion before choosing to give birth to her impacted her perspective. From People:

Beatz and Keys welcomed son Genesis in December 2014. After working on her new book, in which Keys’s mother Teresa Augello shares her own story of considering abortion when she learned she was pregnant with the star in 1980, Keys says she now feels even closer to her mother’s story.

“It wasn’t until writing this that I realized, ‘Oh s—, she chose me’, even through all the difficulties,” Keys tells PEOPLE of Augello, who raised her alone after she suddenly became pregnant following a brief relationship with the star’s father. “How would she ever know what I was brought here to do? In a way we are parallel, but I didn’t even know that.”

Two saves in Philadelphia. No Joking

No one will be April fooling you with this email from Dr. Monique Ruberu.

Praise God and praise the fearless prayer warriors who continue to show up and pray outside the abortion centers.

Praise God for the continued prayer support YOU are providing through our daily 12-hour vigil at home.

Today we have had reports of two women who chose life… one at Comley Rd and one at 12th and locust!!!

PC PP 2

Here is the report from Pat Stanton about the save at 12th and Locust…

” She was meandering in and out of the Center… a young girl… twice we offered her help and resources but she wouldn’t take a thing…

A while later an older lady walked in… I approached her in the same way “Can I offer you any help?” She replied, “I’m not here for an abortion… I have someone in there”

Pat responded, “Will you take some resources in for her? You know this is murder”

sadly she shook her said and said, “I know”

Pat returned to prayer…

a short while later he was so thrilled to see the older lady coming out fists pumping into the air in JUBILATION.accompanied by her granddaughter..” we are KEEPING this baby!!!”
Pat shared all of the resources with them, made sure they had the numbers they needed to call for help and watched them walk away.
It was a good day. Thanks be to God!

PP

Meanwhile, Anita Flynn shared about how an unlikely person helped pro-lifers in NorthEast Philly helped a girl to the pro-life side.
