I was recently at the Capitol. The topic was stem cell research and the creation of embryos in order to use them and destroy them. A senator told me, as he pulled out a piece of paper with a small mark at a hearing and waved it at me: “That is what we are talking about, Father. That doesn’t look like a baby to me.”
I replied, “Good for you, Senator. Thank you for the opportunity; that is exactly what a one-week-old baby looks like! That is exactly what I looked like when I was a one-week-old baby—exactly what you looked like. And unless we get our heads and our hearts—and consequently our politics and our laws—right about this question, brothers and sisters, we are not going to get anything else right.”
Fr. Neuhaus hit the nail on the head. He shared a truth that is not alien to anyone who is willing to examine it. A baby is a baby from his actual beginning!
The human embryo is one of us—an individual who derives food, not his form, from his environment. From day one he is a distinctly unique member of the human family. This is not rocket science; it is reality.
To deny it is to admit that one has chosen ignorance based on a reckless desire to ignore what is clearly provable by reason and logic.

Below is an urgent message from Judie Brown, President of the American Life League. Please use this link to find and contact your elected officials and tell them you do not want a vaccine that includes fetal stems cells from aborted babies. When you’re done, please consider making a contribution to the American Life League to help them with their work.
Congress is getting ready to throw millions if not billions of dollars towards unethical research using aborted fetal stem cell lines.
In my recent letter to the White House and members of Congress, I outlined the very serious dangers of using unethical fetal stem cell lines from aborted babies:
“There are millions of faith-based individuals who will refuse to take any vaccine derived from aborted fetal stem cell lines. As one respected religious leader in Texas recently tweeted, “…let me go on record…if a vaccine for this virus is only attainable if we use body parts of aborted children then I will refuse the vaccine.”— Townhall (15 April 2020)
As you know, American Life League is one of the few pro-life organizations willing to stand on a line and demand that no aborted fetal stem cells be used in the creation of a vaccine for COVID-19.
If an unethical vaccine is created for coronavirus that uses stem cell lines from aborted babies, millions of people of faith will stand by their conscience first.
This is a historic opportunity to make a difference. I need to be able to flood Capitol Hill with letters and phone calls to staff reminding them that we don’t need to stand on a pile of dead babies to make a vaccine for this disease.
Please take a moment to send a message to Secretary of HHS Alex Azar II as requested by Human Life Actionto make sure no vaccines created for COVID-19 include the cells of aborted babies. Links are provided in their message below.
There is absolutely no reason why a vaccine for COVID-19 should be connected to abortion. But that is exactly what may happen in the coming months.
Among the dozens of vaccines currently in development, some are being produced using old cell lines that were created from the cells of aborted babies.
There is NO NEED to further exploit the bodies of aborted children.
Other cell lines or processes that do not involve cells from abortions are available!
In fact, they are regularly used for producing vaccines and are being used by some drug companies to develop a COVID-19 vaccine.
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) along with leaders of many healthcare, bioethics, and pro-life organizations, is urging the Trump Administration to make sure that vaccines for COVID-19 are developed ethically and are free from any connection to the exploitation of abortion. Please add your voice to theirs.
The coalition letter expresses strong support for efforts to develop an effective, safe, and widely available vaccine as quickly as possible, but also strongly urges the federal government to “ensure that fundamental moral principles are followed in the development of such vaccines, most importantly, the principle that human life is sacred and should never be exploited.”
To view all of the signatories and to read the full text of the letter, click here.
The following is from Marie Tasy, Executive Director of the New Jersey Right to Life. Please use the links in Marie’s message for more information and please contact the Trump administration to make sure any vaccine approved for COVID-19 does not use the cells of aborted babies.
Many pharmaceuticals are presently working to develop a vaccine for COVID-19. Unfortunately, some are experimenting on the efficacy of using cell lines from aborted babies.
Please read this informative article by Dr. David Prentice and Dr. Tara Sander Lee which provides a host of ethical alternatives that are available now. There are also many more in development thanks to NIH directing additional funding to new areas of research. For coronavirus in particular, there are over 60 potential treatments under investigation.
Please click on the link HERE to urge the Trump Administration to make sure that vaccines for COVID-19 are developed ethically and are free from any connection to the exploitation of abortion.
We are proud to stand with the Catholic Church and other pro-life and faith leaders to promote good, ethical health care that does not involve the use of aborted babies.

Bonus Training: Should Women be Jailed for Aborting?
As you saw, Students for Life is hosting our own pro-life trainings for the next 5 weeks.
But there’s also a Bonus Training by Equal Rights Institute this Tuesday at 9pm EST!
The topic is a question that comes up often in conversations about abortion: “Do you think women should go to jail for having an abortion when it becomes illegal?”
In this webinar, Josh Brahm (the president of the Equal Rights Institute) will discuss that difficult question and offer several practical suggestions for how to respond to it. Afterward, Josh will take YOUR questions!
Make sure to REGISTER HERE or you won’t be able to join us live. Plus, the replay of the webinar will only be available for 48-hours. If you can’t join us live but you want to receive the replay link afterward, click HERE to register now.
The following was sent to me from Marie Tasy, Executive Director of New Jersey Right to Life. It’s a little long, but worth the read.
Below is a very informative article which appeared in today’s Town Hall on-line publication by Dr. David Prentice, who is Vice President and Research Director for the Charlotte Lozier Institute and Tara Sander Lee, Ph.D., a Senior Fellow and Director of Life Sciences for the Charlotte Lozier Institute.
The article describes how some scientists and liberal media sources are again making false claims about the use of aborted fetal tissue in experiments and vaccines to combat COVID-19. This article provides some very helpful and useful information to counter those claims.
Please stay well and be safe. Please know that our prayers are with you and your loved ones.
Exploiting a Crisis: Unethical Experiments Undermine Real Help for Coronavirus Patients by David A. Prentice Editor’s Note: This piece was coauthored by Tara Sander Lee.
The opinions expressed by columnists are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of Townhall.com.
Someone once said, “Never let a serious crisis go to waste,” and scientists longing to push aside key ethical boundaries took it to heart. A recent Washington Post article claims possible treatments for coronavirus will not be discovered without using body parts harvested from abortions, and that ethical considerations are blocking potential drugs that could “save hundreds of thousands of lives.”
This is not the first time the doomsayers have been exposed for making false and contemptible statements to justify their questionable experiments. But like so many before it, the latest claim is specious. The coronavirus pandemic provides a convenient opportunity to play on people’s fears. It’s dishonest and wrong.
Experimentation involving aborted babies’ body parts is controversial for a reason: it is unethical, antiquated science – and it’s totally unnecessary. There is no need whatsoever for its use in development of protections or treatments for the coronavirus or any other disease. Instead of squandering precious taxpayer dollars, we should be optimizing the wide array of modern, successful alternatives we already have.
A host of ethical alternatives are available now, and many more are in development thanks to NIH directing additional funding to new areasof research. For coronavirus in particular, there are over 60 potential treatments under investigation. Making the conscientious decision not to exploit aborted children’s bodies won’t stop us from fighting coronavirus. Indeed, there is no lack of swift progress with ethical alternatives, including some that have already started clinical trials.
One potential treatment for coronavirus involves the use of a humanized mouse (that is, a mouse with a humanized immune system), but it does not use any aborted baby parts. This modern version, the VelocImmune mouse, is genetically engineered to produce human antibodies for therapeutic use including arthritis and potential treatment for coronavirus infection.
Repurposing an already-approved drug also shows promise in treating coronavirus. A drug widely used for malariais moving particularly fast through the research, development, and clinical trial process, when used alone or in combination with other drugs.
Adult stem cells – which are derived from ethical sources present in the body, not from destroyed embryos – are also delivering results. One type of human adult stem cell has been shown to generate new lung tissue and heal damaged lungs. In fact, the researchers noted that this adult stem cell type is essential to repairing lung tissue damaged by severe influenza and other respiratory ailments. Another adult stem cell type has already been deployed in China and is improving health outcomes for patients with coronavirus-associated pneumonia.
With so many other successful alternatives available to researchers, pushing experimentation with aborted baby body parts at a time like this, when many people worldwide already feel vulnerable, is petty and ludicrous. The Trump administration’s new policy toward these experiments rightly puts ethics first in considering taxpayer-funded grants to researchers who want to use body parts from elective abortions. This week, HHS is accepting nominations for an Ethics Board to carefully examine the ethics of these research proposals. Between the coronavirus and the administration’s action, the timing of complaints from scientists who want to keep tax dollars flowing to their grisly projects is as unsurprising as it is inappropriate.
These objectors always fail to mention that their experiments don’t just require the intentional and deliberate destruction of human life to get the body parts they so covet – they incentivize it. Often the baby who’s sacrificed can feel pain. Some might even survive outside the womb. This argument gets to the heart of what is right and what is wrong and what should and should not be allowed in the name of science. The fact is, the use of aborted baby body parts for research is never justified or necessary.
David Prentice, Ph.D. is Vice President and Research Director for the Charlotte Lozier Institute. Tara Sander Lee, Ph.D. is Senior Fellow and Director of Life Sciences for the Charlotte Lozier Institute.
For most of his papacy, St. John Paul the Great emphasize the necessity for every Catholic to protect the sanctity of human life.
For him, his work that was promulgated on this day 25 years ago rings true today.
The point of the document is to reinforce church teaching on the sanctity of human life. Not only does he reinforce the teaching on abortion and contraception, but he also takes it a step further by discussing the death penalty stating that it is “unholy and unlawful”.
Another form of a murder he discusses is euthanasia “grave violation of the law of God” because it is a form of deliberate killing.
Overall, the encyclical was a pro-life manifesto. It defines what it means to be for all stages of life and how we can pick and choose which form of life we should defend.
The case challenges a law requiring abortionists to have admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles of their facility.
As the first case related to abortion that will be heard since Justice Kavanaugh has been appointed to the Court, this decision could challenge/overturn the 2016 Hellerstedt decision, which stripped away commonsense protections that safeguard women from predatory abortionists.

Years ago, the late pro-life Justice Antonin Scalia noted that he wanted to reverse the 1973 decision that legalized abortion. But he asked Americans – where was the moral outcry?
You are the moral outcry! That’s why I need you to join us on Wednesday. The Justices need to see you there.
Beginning at 7:30am, we’ll be gathering in front of the court to help stake out space for our pro-life speakers and set the tone for a peaceful, fun, and energized rally. We are asking all pro-life supporters to wear the color BLUE.
Let us know at the Facebook Event if you’re coming. I hope you can; this is certainly one for the history books.
The following is from Deep Roots at Home blogger Alli. She writes a very lengthy expose’ regarding the Girl Scouts and how they are connected with Planned Parenthood especially with Girl Scout Cookie Season upon us.
Revealing the background of the Girl Scouts is like peeling an onion–each layer exposes a different “truth”. Lots of troops DON’T follow this doctrine. Good for them! But a portion of their Girl Scout cookies sales still gets kicked to corporate, and they very clearly DO follow this doctrine.
“Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.” ~Ephesians 5:11
Sales of Girl Scout cookies are under-way, and it is time to expose what the dollars that are earned from their sales really goes to. Please be aware that some of what is exposed here will shock and disturb you!
I’ve reached out to several women I know and trust who have been involved with or are currently involved with Girl Scouts of the USA. None of these women were aware of the master plan of the WAGGGS and GSUSA agenda.
Unlike Colorado’s new transgender troops, my relatively conservative mountain town has not yet experienced the symptoms of the liberal ideals espoused by the GSUSA. These women were certainly unaware that millions of dollars, including their daughter’s dues and Girl Scout cookies funds, are being paid to the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts to provide for their comprehensive sexual freedom education, abortion protection, and sexual rights for youth advocacy.
These mothers were not informed that their daughters were enrolled to promote “safe” sexual promiscuity, “guiltless” sexual immorality, “responsibility-free” pregnancy, “inconsequential” sexual exploration and murder of the innocent unborn.
Girl Scouts is an organization that promises to promote honesty and courage, responsibility and charity, yet the soul of the organization is Godless and vile. How can we continue support of an organization run and operated by abortionists and homosexuals intent on programming our youth to accept these atrocities as “rights?” How can we continue to encourage our children to emulate the values these pro-abortion, pro-LGBT adults actively fight to enforce? How can we offer our young girls to a society of role models who have made careers of promoting and fundraising the pro-choice, pro-homosexuality, anti-Christ movement?
As Christians, the truth is simple. We can’t.
We cannot endorse an organization that has such a wretched center. We cannot commend an institution that refuses to protect parental rights and the innocence of youth. We cannot be enticed by the promises of character-building as we clearly see the wolf’s eyes peering out through the feigned fleece.
GIRL SCOUTS USA REVEALED
32 REASONS NOT TO BUY GIRL SCOUT COOKIES
The Planned Parenthood Federation of America is signaling its intention to dominate the national sex education agenda:
The information presented below is documented and verifiable, but by no means exhaustive. Please follow links referenced within the article and visit the websites listed at the bottom. All information and materials have been provided by the Girl Scouts USA website, affiliate websites, former leaders, former scouts and former scout mothers.
National Collaboration for Youth: Promotes girls to pro-abortion activism and is the driving force behind Spark Action website for youth which supports LGBT rights.
Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) is a founding member of WAGGGS (which receives between $1 million to $2 million in dues each year from the girls who are members) and makes up one third of its membership (contributing the majority of its revenue).
Scouts must wear the WAGGGS pin (included in the prepackaged starter kit) in the exclusive position over the heart.
Partner with UNFPA, UNAIDS and UNICEF, three UN agencies known to promote abortion
MATERIALS ENDORSED BY GIRL SCOUTS
“Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) does not take a position or develop materials on sexuality, birth control or abortion. . .” but they pay upwards of $2 million annually in support of the mission of WAGGGS “to rapidly improve…education and training, especially on sexual and reproductive health and rights” for children.”
Your Voice Your World: (grades 11 & 12) girls are encouraged to explore organizations such as Amnesty International and Population Council, both heavy supporters of Planned Parenthood and abortion rights; advises girls to consider a career as an ACLU lawyer (which supports HHS mandate and abortion rights).
Agent of Change: (grades 4 & 5) asks girls to work with Sierra Club (abortion advocacy and population control group) in a Take Action Project.
aMAZE: (grades 6-8) had at one time referred girls to http://www.astrolog.org, exposing girls to black magik, New Age and pagan theologies. Note: the link has been removed and is no longer there.
Instructs girls to visit “advocacy” websites in search of career opportunities. One of the encouraged sites, idealist.org, lists over 100 positions available in Planned Parenthood. Girls can even view multiple job opportunities that advocate for sex worker rights.
GSUSA is a self-proclaimed non-religious organization.
Promotes leaders? like Tyra Banks (Victoria Secret Model), Melinda Gates, Venus Williams, etc.
Asterisk next to God in the Girl Scout Promise: *Girl Scouts of the USA makes no attempt to define or interpret the word “God” in the Girl Scout Promise. It looks to individual members to establish for themselves the nature of their spiritual beliefs. When making the Girl Scout Promise, individuals may substitute wording appropriate to their own spiritual beliefs for the word “God.”
Healthy, Happy & Hot: a booklet published by the International Planned Parenthood Federation provided to the GSUSA at the UN conference. The encourages masturbation, “talking dirty”, hetero- and homosexual intercourse, discusses drunk sex and tells HIV-positive youth it is a violation of their rights to inform sexual partners they are infected.
Promotion of literature that mocked the church and recommendations for R-rated movies to 11-13 year old girls have also been removed because of scrutiny like this and protests from parents.
PERSONS ENDORSED BY GIRL SCOUTS
Dolores Huerta: a pro-choice “Catholic” and avid abortion rights and Planned Parenthood supporter (having received their highest honor, the Margaret Sanger Award), was honored by “Call to Action” a pro-abortion Catholic dissident group. She also helped defeat California’s notification requirements for minor’s abortions and was promoted as a “Voice for Good” in the required books Your Voice Your World and in Agent of Change. The “Dolores Huerta patch” requirements include visiting www.doloreshuerta.org where girls can find praise for Planned Parenthood and links for “California Latinos for Reproductive Justice,” “Feminist Majority Foundation,” and Ms. Magazine all of which offer support for women’s abortion rights.
Betty Friedan: named by GSUSA a “Voice for Good” twice in the book Your Voice Your World. She’s a well-known abortion advocate and founder of the National Abortion Rights Action League (Naral). She is involved with pro-abortion National Organization for Women (NOW) and served as a GSUSA board member for 12 years.
Elizabeth Gurley Flynn: established the American Civil Liberties Union which supports the HHS mandate and abortion rights. She and the ACLU named by GSUSA a “Voice for Good” in Your Voice Your World. She served as the national chairman for the Communist Party and was arrested, charged, and convicted for conspiracy to overthrow the US government.
Gloria Steinem: presented to girls as a woman’s rights activist who started the “Story of Sisterhood.” She is a staunch abortion rights advocate and a promoter of Planned Parenthood where she stated at its 75th anniversary, “There’s no group or organization I would rather celebrate than Planned Parenthood.”
Anna Maria Chavez: Current Girl Scouts CEO, a pro-abortion advocate mentored by Geraldine Ferraro, also a keynote speaker for NOW-inspired Women’s Equality Day.
Joshua Ackley: Chief Representative, Blogger and Girl Scouts chaperone to UN event. Founder of “Dead Betties” a gay punk band, recently re-united, with videos depicting images of masturbation, prostitution and violence against women. Some song titles include “Hellevator,” “Terror Teacher,” “Sick Days are for Sex,” “Cock Rock,” “Slim Fast and Heroine.”

Annise Parker: a 2011 convention speaker, presided over the opening of one of the largest Planned Parenthood abortion clinics, lesbian partner to the treasurer of the Planned Parenthood abortion clinic.
GSUSA contributes to WAGGGS by making donations to the Juliette Lowe World Friendship Fund ($100,000 annually).
GSUSA also allocates tens of thousands from the JLWFF to many other WAGGGS related expenditures each year (as per tax return).
AWARDS GIVEN BY GIRL SCOUTS
Safety Badge: part of the requirement is visiting KidsHealth.com which promotes Planned Parenthood.
Participation Badge: (recently removed after receiving many complaints) part of the requirement encourages scouts to read the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) that denies parents the right to limit their child’s access to explicit materials.
Global Action Award: (earned through WAGGGS) leaders are told to emphasize to the girls that they are a part of the 10 million strong WAGGGS all working together to achieve the same important goals; suggested activities: learning about adolescent/teen pregnancies, and educating others about HIV/AIDS.
AIDS Badge: (earned through WAGGGS) girls are encouraged to develop a display about condoms (where they can be purchased, steps and demonstration of correct use, provide free condoms) or develop a role play in which a couple discusses the use of condom during sex, and visit a local organization providing education for pregnancy prevention and treatment of STDs (e.g. Planned Parenthood).
FIGHT OR FLIGHT
“Train up a child the way the way she should go, and when she is older she will not depart from it.” ~Proverbs 22:6
As Christians and as parents it is our responsibility to ensure that our children are in the world but not of it. We are to protect their innocence and promote Godly values. We need to protect the sanctity of life and the beauty of sexual morality. We need to either take a stand and fight for real purity and honest integrity within the Girl Scouts and its chosen affiliates or we need to remove our devotion and dedication to the Godless entity.
So are your Girl Scout cookie cravings under control? What will you allow to fill your spirit, mind, and body?
“They enjoyed the sweet taste of wickedness, letting it melt under their tongue.“ ~Job 20:12
