PHILLY PRO-LIFERS HONOR JOHN STANTON’S LEGACY; 8 YEARS AFTER HIS DEATH

If John Stanton were alive today, he would love to have stepped out in the bitter, winter cold, all bundled up, ready to save babies and prick the conscience of the workers and volunteers alike. He did it through every element. Whether he was alone or with a group, he carried a smile and a humble demeanor to every person that he would encounter.

His presence was felt this morning with 75 people stronger from all walks of life. The rally began with a rosary led by Martin Stanton.

Kim Savage of Generation Life shared about how on September 11th, she was scared about going to work when the world stood still when the events were unfolding in New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C. She pointed to the fact that Planned Parenthood was offering abortions to the widows of the fallen first responders. Mr. Stanton told her, “We have work to do”. Indeed, she did go to work.

Pastor Bill Devlin shared how John Stanton prayed for his son Luke who had cancer at 18 months. His fervent prayer cured him, yet he continued to pray for him for the rest of his life.

Marlene Downing took the time to promote Susan B Anthony List. Correlating how she kept fighting this one girl in her neighborhood growing up Marlene shared how we are in a constant spiritual battle. God told her that “I’ll teach you to pray first”.

After the prayer vigil, everyone gathered for Mass that was celebrated by John Stanton’s longtime friend Father Rayford Emmons. Fr. Emmons shared about his many encounters with John Stanton, especially how he met him through an encounter when talking with a woman who had two suicide attempts, which propelled John to launch the Pro-Life Union of Greater Philadelphia.

Pat shared about how his father and several faithful prayed outside of Gosnell’s House of Horrors for many years. Additionally, he would fervently pray outside of two abortion facilities in Center City. He recalled the saves they had during his time out there through a letter Pat read after Mass.

Many of us have a story about John Stanton. Soon, each one will be told. He will also remain a powerful intercessor in heaven for all of your needs.

GENERATION LIFE CELEBRATES 20 YEARS

For the last twenty years, Generation Life has changed the hearts and minds of half a million young people throughout the greater Philadelphia area and beyond.

On a beautiful fall evening at The Inn at Villanova, 200 supporters gathered to reminisce, celebrate, and hope to equip the organization to continue to fight for love and life.

Kim Savage opened the evening by sharing how far the organization has come since its humble beginnings on the campus of Villanova University, which later grew into sharing chastity in the classrooms, early involvements outside of abortion facilities, and in time beach outreaches.

Those gathered saw a few videos that recapped the last twenty years of the organization while also hearing from past and current staff and volunteers what the organization has done and meant to them.

Fr. Joe Zaleski, the president of the organization, has asked everyone to continue donating to the organization as an anonymous donor wishes to match every money donated to the organization in the near future.

You may do so by donating to the organization here.

West Chester Holds Inuaugral March for Life; Mourns 30 Years of Bloodshed

Despite a taste of summer in the air on Saturday, June 5th, 500 pro-lifers gathered for a call to action while mourning the thousands of lives lost to abortion in West Chester, PA a 45-minute drive from Philadelphia.

The day began with Mass at St. Agnes Church near the heart of town. Bishop John McIntyre was celebrant homilist for the Mass for Life. In his homily, he reflected on his visit to the 9/11 memorial in New York and how the 3,000 lives lost there was no different that the daily murder of the unborn in our society today. He reminded everyone that life from womb to tomb is precious and made perfect in the eye of God.

After the celebration of Mass, the pro-lifers peacefully march around town. The first stop was the Planned Parenthood facility.

Following the brief rally and prayer at Planned Parenthood, everyone processed to the courthouse in the middle of town.

The speakers were deep, personal, and cover topics that are affecting the culture of life.

Overall, the day was filled with beauty and love.

Support the Generation Life Golf Outing!

Please see the email below with details on the  Generation Life Golf Outing fundraiser.  While there are many avenues in the pro-life movement:  legislative, prayerful, pregnancy center donations, public rallies, etc., Generation Life’s mission is to get to the root cause of abortion.  Their goal is to educate the younger generations about chastity and try to stop the want or need for an abortion.  They meet young people where they are and proclaim this message.  Gen Life stands outside of abortion centers, speaks at pro-life rallies and most importantly, is a younger voice for the unborn. If you are an armchair golfer, then consider participating through a donation.  If you were impressed by Phil Mickelson’s recent PGA Championship at the age of 50 and want to get back out on the links, then here’s your chance! Either way, please support Generation Life.  It is through their ministry that true change will take place.
