ALERT: PLANNED MOTHER’S DAY PROTESTS AT ALL CATHOLIC CHURCHES ACROSS THE NATION

The following is from CatholicVote.org.

A radical abortion group calling itself “Ruth Sent Us” announced this week that it is mobilizing activists to enter Catholic churches during Mass this coming Sunday in response to reports that the Supreme Court is set to overturn Roe vs. Wade.

“Whether you’re a ‘Catholic for Choice’, ex-Catholic, of other or no faith, recognize that six extremist Catholics set out to overturn Roe,” the group stated on Twitter. “Stand at or in a local Catholic Church Sun May 8.”

Ruth Sent Us included a video with the post, which showed activists dressed in Handmaid’s Tale costumes in a sacred building, disrupting worshippers with shouts of “Abortion on demand and without apology!”

The same radical group earlier this week published the locations of pro-life Supreme Court justices’ private homes, calling on activists to show up at their houses. “We must rise up to force accountability using a diversity of tactics,” the group stated.

A Ruth Sent Us TikTok account uploaded a video of activists marching toward the doors of a Catholic Church. “Sometime a*****es need a beating,” the post stated.

Ruth Sent Us tweeted out another video of protesters interrupting Mass in another sacred building. The activists marched in and stood between the holy altar and the parishioners. “For 2,000 years the Catholic Church has been an institution for the enslavement of women,” shouted one.

“This is what Mother’s Day should look like,” tweeted Ruth Sent Us. “Catholic and Evangelical Churches nationwide.”

CatholicVote Communications Director Joshua Mercer says Catholics throughout the country should be wary and prepared when they attend Mass, especially this coming Sunday.

“In the past, we might have blown off the words of these activists as empty threats. But given the recent rash of very real attacks on Catholic statues and churches, it makes sense to be cautious,” Mercer said.

He added that Ruth Sent Us and other activists are quite explicit about their anti-Catholicism. “If they wanted, they could have just focused on the issue of abortion. But instead, they chose to highlight the Catholic faith of some of the pro-life justices,” he said, noting that the radical abortion group called the justices “extremist Catholics.”

CatholicVote has called on Catholics to pray for the justices whose addresses were published. “We’re talking about human beings, with children,” Mercer said. “And this Sunday, keep your eyes open. These are ruthless people, and they’re looking for a confrontation.”

MAY TO DO LIST

It’s the month of May. Spring is at its peak. It is the month of our Blessed Mother (Fellow Catholics will get that). The flowers have since bloomed. And in due time, the weather will gradually get warmer (especially for any of us tired of the roller coaster weather pattern recently).

Here are suggestions for the month of May:

  1. Throw a baby shower for expectant mothers
  2. Pray for all expectant mothers
  3. Collect maternity items for Pregnancy Resource Centers
  4. Attend pro-life prayer vigils and rallies in your community
  5. Plan a Holy Hour for Life at your parish
  6. Hold your elected officials accountable in the upcoming primary elections
  7. Give your graduate, mom, or anyone receiving the sacraments a reminder about the prolife message

May you have a blessed month of May. Defend and save a life. It may be your own.

Happy Mother’s Day!

A very blessed and happy Mother’s Day to all from those of us at Voices for Life.

Mother’s Day Rally Asks Why Churches Non-Essential But Abortion Facilities Are

On a beautiful Saturday morning, 40 pro-lifers gathered outside of the Philadelphia Women’s Center for a pre-Mother’s Day rally.

Pat Stanton opened the rally with a prayer that stresses the importance of being created for God and by God for a purpose. He later asked the question as to why would churches be closed yet abortion facilities remain open under a communist governor like Tom Wolf.

The speakers included Marlene Downing of Hope Pregnancy, Katelyn D’Adamo of Generation Life, Fr. Michael Moriarty of Legionnaires of Christ, and Pastor Herb Lusk III.

Marlene stressed the importance of praying for the conversion of not just the mothers but also those that are accessory to the slaughter of innocent blood. She even knew that God has a plan for when the facility will be closed for good. She encouraged everyone to be steadfast and present.

Katelyn, the acting Director of Generation Life, shared how her closest friend was pregnant while attending college. Because of Katelyn being present, her friend chose life and graduated second in her class.

Following Katelyn was Kim Savage. Twenty years ago, Kim became one of the first members of Generation Life. She is now a mother of four. She shared about her adoption story and reflected on what it meant to be a mother.

Pastor Herb of Greater Exodus Church reminded everyone to come from a place to love in order to change hearts. Drawing from the story of Hannah in the Old Testament, prayed for a child and turned out to be one of the greatest prophets, Samuel. She would dedicate him to God.

Fr. Michael Moriarty concluded the rally with how he shared the fact that his mom chose life despite being an alcoholic and dedicated his priesthood to helping the poor in Kensington.

A blessed Mother’s Day to all the moms out there. Thank you for your yes to life. You’re heroes.

“You risk your heart every day to become a mom.” Fr. Mike Schmitz

AMAZING OPPORTUNITY TO EXERCISE YOUR PRO-LIFE VIEWS

The following is from Dr. Monique Ruberu that was copied and posted to the blog with her consent. He is asking for help from two moms in the Philly/SJ area who are choosing life through the abortion pill reversal hotline.

I am in touch with the moms of 2 of my recent abortion reversals..

One lives in Ocean County, NJ. The other lives in downtown Philly

I am looking for a few dedicated people to be a part of these women’s support team…

It would involve volunteering to be a part of a group that is willing to walk with this mom and show her love and support..

It could be as simple as letting her know you are her constant prayer support and sending her letters and cards with supportive words and advice

It could be helping to set up an online baby shower or birthday party for the little one

One person in the group will volunteer to be the lead, making initial contact with the mom, identifying any needs she may have and bringing them back to the group to see how the group can help… if the group doesn’t have the resources in their own circle they will bring the need to me and we will find the help she needs through the larger pro-life community.

It may be finding someone that can help the mom with life skills or resume building… it could be anything… just trying to build a supportive loving PRAYERFUL community around this mom so she knows she is not alone.

Let me know if you would like to be a part of either of these teams and if you are interested in being the lead

Mother’s Day Fundraiser

The following is from Tom Steven, Director of the Pro-Life Union of Greater Philadelphia regarding this year’s mother’s day fundraiser that typically takes place across the churches in the Greater Philadelphia area.

We hope this email finds you well!  How are you, your family, your parish, and your respect life activities, if any?
Due to the unanticipated cancellation of parish Masses this Mother’s Day, the Pro-Life Union is unable to distribute roses, baby bottles, and Mother’s Day Newsletters as we normally do.  We love giving roses to moms and are very disappointed (in addition to being disappointed by not being able to attend Mass!).
Mother’s Day baby bottle drives and rose sales are typically a significant fundraiser for Guiding Star Ministries maternity home and for the Pro-Life Union.  This May without our Mother’s Day campaign, we are left with the next best option — to try to raise funds via online fundraising (see below).
Please share via your parish email distribution list or in your parish bulletin if you are able.  Thank you for your support!   Please see below and share.
This Mother’s Day, Help These Moms who Chose Life! Give a gift in honor of your mom, or your mom’s mom, or in honor of someone who helped your mom along the way.  Join our Mother’s Day Campaign for moms and children.  All proceeds benefit Guiding Star Ministries, a home for single pregnant moms and their children.

Each year on Mother’s Day, the Pro-Life Union of Greater Philadelphia gives out thousands of roses in honor of moms on their special day, and hosts baby bottle drives in churches throughout Greater Philadelphia.  It is a significant fundraising event for Guiding Star Ministries and enables us to provide a safe, beautiful home to single pregnant women and their children who are at risk of homelessness.  This year due to the Covid-19 quarantine we are unable to host our fundraising campaign — so we are going virtual!

Thank you for being a part of this very important fundraising campaign!   Our goal is to raise $25,000.    Please share it with some friends.
NOTE: This fundraiser will run until Friday, May 15th.
