Bonus Training: Should Women be Jailed for Aborting?

As you saw, Students for Life is hosting our own pro-life trainings for the next 5 weeks.

But there’s also a Bonus Training by Equal Rights Institute this Tuesday at 9pm EST!

The topic is a question that comes up often in conversations about abortion: “Do you think women should go to jail for having an abortion when it becomes illegal?”

In this webinar, Josh Brahm (the president of the Equal Rights Institute) will discuss that difficult question and offer several practical suggestions for how to respond to it. Afterward, Josh will take YOUR questions!

Make sure to REGISTER HERE or you won’t be able to join us live. Plus, the replay of the webinar will only be available for 48-hours. If you can’t join us live but you want to receive the replay link afterward, click HERE to register now.

Corona Virus Concerns; 40 Days Urges Caution But Be Present

Here are several email blasts from the Greater Philadelphia area campaign leaders regarding the coronavirus and how to go about it. Please be sure to use common sense if you decide to go forward with your commitment outside of these places of death. As of now, abortion facilities will continue to be open to murdering babies in spite of the pandemic.

Rachel Hayes- Chester County

40 Days for Life campaign headquarters has informed campaign leaders to monitor and comply with all national, state, and local health and safety regulations regarding the coronavirus/Covid-19.

You may be aware that Chester County has now had its first confirmed case, and the County is currently urging residents to avoid gyms, venues, and large public gatherings.

As our vigil is held outdoors and there is no necessity to be in close proximity to others, here are the recommended guidelines to follow while holding vigil:

Practice social distancing at your vigil sites by remaining three feet away from other participants and avoid physical contact such as handshakes and hugs. As we have all already been instructed from the beginning of this outbreak, if you are ill or a close family member is ill, please do not go out in public.

During this Lenten season, as we are already praying and fasting for an end to abortion and the protection of innocent human life, let us also pray for an end to the spread of this potentially deadly virus and for the health and safety of all our neighbors, born and unborn.

If there is any change to the Chester County recommendations I will send an updated notice. Of course, if you are uncomfortable holding vigil, please feel free to pray from home.

Anita Flynn- Planned Parenthood-Comly Road

Please know that you should not feel obligated to stand up at Comly Road if you are at all uncomfortable about being out in public during this time.  We never want anyone to be uncomfortable up there. Please feel free to contact me to cancel any time you may have scheduled.  There will be another vigil in the Fall and hopefully, by then this will have passed.

Any questions or concerns about our local vigil during this time let me know.  If you prefer to contact the 40 Days for Life organization directly about the email below here is their contact info:

Prayers that all who have contracted this virus will recover and that anyone feeling the downstream effects of this will have the support they need.

Monique Ruberu- Philadelphia Campaigns

I know with all of the coronavirus concern many of you are hesitant to go and pray outside of these centers.

Sadly although schools are closed, and nonessential businesses I don’t believe that the abortion centers are closing.

I can almost guarantee you that you will be standing alone or with another person in prayer… you are free to stand more than 6 feet apart, greet one another with waves and elbow taps, you can even wear a mask 🙂  but please consider coming out to pray.

The coronavirus has killed people, but the abortion center continues to kill 6000 babies a year. That’s 23 babies every day they are open.
It’s about 6 babies for every hour you stand there… so can you please come and pray for the 6 babies nobody else is standing up for?

Reminder about Margaret Sanger

The following is from an email blast sent out by Dr. Monique Ruberu. A pro-lifer turned around a sign that featured a quote from the founder of Planned Parenthood. A note written by a disgruntled by one pro-lifer was discovered this morning during the campaign.

Today at the vigil we noticed that one of the signs had tampered with. The sign that had a quote from Margaret Sanger saying “We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population…” was turned the other way…

At first, I thought this was the work of a pro-choice person, but then on reading the note that had been left, I realized this was done by one of us…

So I thought it would be good to just go over a little bit why we chose to put a Margaret Sanger quote on our sign and why we think it’s important for everybody to understand what she believed and to realize that Planned Parenthood still touts her as an amazing leader for women. They even give out an award in her name and have a portion centers such as the one in New York City named after her.

This was a woman who was a huge proponent for abortion for the sole purpose of ending the lives and limiting the population of those that she saw as weak and unfit to be a part of our society. Her active role as a leader in the world of eugenics and her writings are Evidence of these beliefs.

if you do have a question or concern about any of our materials or signs please speak to Pat or me. Our goal is not to upset people but rather to reveal the truth about Planned Parenthood and its founder.

Thank you all so much for all of your support and kindness in this visual thus far once again we have filled another day with no empty spots in our vigil.

Please continue to fill the following empty spots throughout the rest of the week.

Abortion Hurts Men Too- Philly 40 Days for Life

The following is from an email blast sent out by Dr. Monique Ruberu. She shares about a pro-lifer’s encounter with a man whose girlfriend was getting an abortion at 777 Appletree.

Dear Friends,

Abortion hurts. It hurts the child the mother and the father. It hurts the siblings, the grandparents, the great grandparents and every one of us that miss out on the gift of that human being.
Often at the abortion centers, we encounter men who are completely helpless. They have no “choice” in the matter and their inability to protect their child is heartbreaking.
Thank you for being there for these men as well.   I thank God that Rita was there to acknowledge one of these men’s pain and try to be the hands and feet of Jesus at that moment…

Sadly, this mother likely didn’t change her mind, but at least this man may be exposed to the love of Jesus… sometimes all we can do is plant a seed and let God grow it within them.

Here is Rita’s encounter:

I had a divine appointment yesterday at Appletree. After driving around forever to find a parking space, I found a space on Appletree Street on the same block as the clinic. Once I found the spot I had to put a note on my car in an attempt to avoid getting a ticket while I wandered all over to get change for the kiosk. In my frustration, I was, honestly, tempted to leave but I pressed past the temptation for the cause. This proved to be perfectly orchestrated as I finally got change and purchased my ticket at the kiosk.  As I stepped away from the kiosk a guy walked up, looked at the kiosk, and asked me in frustration if it took dollar bills.  I told him, “No” and expressed my frustration about the situation to him as well.  I just knew that he was with someone that was in Appletree so I purposely used this encounter as a segue to approach his reason for being there.

So my next question was, “Where are you going?”  He said, “My lady is in there” and pointed to the clinic.  I said, “Oh, she is in there having an abortion?”  He hung his head in sorrow and said, “Yeah.”  I replied, “I’m so sorry.  Is there anything I can do to help?”  He hung and shook his head again, shrugged his shoulders, and said, “Naw.  She made up her mind.”  He said that she has lupus and didn’t want the complications.  I asked him if she did it yet and he said he didn’t know but there was nothing he could do.  I told him that I was so sorry and shared with him the story of my termination as a teenager and how 35 years later the father of the baby still talked about our baby with regret.  As I walked him to his car, I told him that I know abortion hurts men.  I had just parked,  so I didn’t get a chance to grab any literature from our post so I gave him a gospel tract and shared with him the love of Jesus for him, his girlfriend, and their baby.

After I gave him the track, it occurred to me that I could write the names of resources on the back of the track for him.  I saw a pen in his car and asked if I could use it to write some resources on the track for him but he declined.  However, he did keep the tract.  I asked his name to pray for him.  He said his name is Antoine.  If nothing else, I can usher him by name to the throne of God that the Holy Spirit would intervene and draw them to Himself in love, repentance, and healing.  I believe that the process started the moment we met.

Rita

please continue to join us in filling the following hours:

Mon 3/2 : 12th and locust: 12,1,2

Tues 3/3 12th and locust – Ed will be there – come and join him as the 2nd person at 9,10,11,12,2,3

Wed 3/4: 12th and locust: 2

Thurs 3/5: 12th and loc: 10,12,1

God bless you all!

Blogger’s Note: This is why we must be present outside of these abortion facilities. We must, like Christ, overcome the unruly passions of the word to share his message with others.

Joaquin Phoenix Rages Against Drinking Milk From Cows, While Hollywood Celebrates Abortion

The following is from Lifenews.com which discusses everything that took place during the Oscars

Hollywood’s most elite celebrities clapped enthusiastically Sunday as actor Joaquin Phoenix condemned the dairy industry for milking cows and “plundering” the world’s natural resources.

All the while, many of the same celebrities ignore – and some openly embrace – the greatest human rights abuse of our time: abortion.

Phoenix, who won best actor at the Oscars for his role in “Joker,” gave an acceptance speech that almost sounded pro-life at times — but it wasn’t. Though he did not say where he stands on the abortion issue, many celebrities who attended the Oscars advocate for abortion on demand and the abortion industry.

“I think the greatest gift that it’s given me and many people in [this industry] is the opportunity to use our voice for the voiceless,” Phoenix began. “I’ve been thinking about some of the distressing issues that we’ve been facing collectively.”

According to the Guardian, he criticized society for embracing an “egocentric world view” and “plundering” the world’s resources.

“We feel entitled to artificially inseminate a cow and steal her baby, even though her cries of anguish are unmistakable. Then we take her milk that’s intended for her calf and we put it in our coffee and our cereal,” he said.

“We’re talking about the fight against the belief that one nation, one people, one race, one gender, one species, has the right to dominate, use and control another with impunity,” he continued.

Phoenix challenged his listeners to fight against injustice, “whether we’re talking about gender inequality or racism or queer rights or indigenous rights or animal rights.”

Eater reports Phoenix has been a vegan for almost all of his life, and he sometimes campaigns with PETA. Vox writer Kelsey Piper praised him for elevating “the moral worth of animals.”

While protecting animals from abuse is important, Hollywood repeatedly and consistently fails to acknowledge an even greater injustice in this world today. Since 1973, more than 61 million unborn babies have been killed in abortions in America alone.

These babies are discriminated against more than any other group in the world. Some are aborted because they have Down syndrome or because they are a girl instead of a boy. Some are aborted just because their parents neglected to use contraception and their life was created at an inconvenient time.

Sometimes their mothers are forced to abort them by abusers and sex traffickers. Sometimes their fathers plead desperately for their lives to no avail, because fathers do not have any legal right to protect their own children before birth.

Every year, thousands of pain-capable later term unborn babies are aborted in the U.S., many for elective reasons. Every year, tens of thousands more are killed by being dismembered, torn apart in their mothers’ wombs while their hearts are still beating.

Abortion is cruel, violent, destructive.

But Hollywood celebrates it, instead of condemns it. Few will forget how, at the Golden Globes in January, actress Michelle Williams was met with massive applause when she thanked God for her “right to choose” to abort her unborn baby.

Phoenix was right to remind his fellow actors that they are given an incredible gift – a huge audience in which to be an influence for good, a “voice for the voiceless.” But they are squandering that gift when they neglect to address the horrific plight of abortion on mothers, fathers and especially their unborn babies.

Girl Scout Expose’

The following is from Deep Roots at Home blogger Alli. She writes a very lengthy expose’ regarding the Girl Scouts and how they are connected with Planned Parenthood especially with Girl Scout Cookie Season upon us.

Revealing the background of the Girl Scouts is like peeling an onion–each layer exposes a different “truth”. Lots of troops DON’T follow this doctrine. Good for them! But a portion of their Girl Scout cookies sales still gets kicked to corporate, and they very clearly DO follow this doctrine.

“Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.” ~Ephesians 5:11

Sales of Girl Scout cookies are under-way, and it is time to expose what the dollars that are earned from their sales really goes to. Please be aware that some of what is exposed here will shock and disturb you!

I’ve reached out to several women I know and trust who have been involved with or are currently involved with Girl Scouts of the USA. None of these women were aware of the master plan of the WAGGGS and GSUSA agenda.

Unlike Colorado’s new transgender troops, my relatively conservative mountain town has not yet experienced the symptoms of the liberal ideals espoused by the GSUSA. These women were certainly unaware that millions of dollars, including their daughter’s dues and Girl Scout cookies funds, are being paid to the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts to provide for their comprehensive sexual freedom education, abortion protection, and sexual rights for youth advocacy.

These mothers were not informed that their daughters were enrolled to promote “safe” sexual promiscuity, “guiltless” sexual immorality, “responsibility-free” pregnancy, “inconsequential” sexual exploration and murder of the innocent unborn.

Girl Scouts is an organization that promises to promote honesty and courage, responsibility and charity, yet the soul of the organization is Godless and vile. How can we continue support of an organization run and operated by abortionists and homosexuals intent on programming our youth to accept these atrocities as “rights?” How can we continue to encourage our children to emulate the values these pro-abortion, pro-LGBT adults actively fight to enforce? How can we offer our young girls to a society of role models who have made careers of promoting and fundraising the pro-choice, pro-homosexuality, anti-Christ movement?

As Christians, the truth is simple. We can’t.

We cannot endorse an organization that has such a wretched center. We cannot commend an institution that refuses to protect parental rights and the innocence of youth. We cannot be enticed by the promises of character-building as we clearly see the wolf’s eyes peering out through the feigned fleece.

GIRL SCOUTS USA REVEALED

32 REASONS NOT TO BUY GIRL SCOUT COOKIES

The Planned Parenthood Federation of America is signaling its intention to dominate the national sex education agenda:

AFFILIATES OF GIRL SCOUTS OF THE USA

The information presented below is documented and verifiable, but by no means exhaustive. Please follow links referenced within the article and visit the websites listed at the bottom. All information and materials have been provided by the Girl Scouts USA website, affiliate websites, former leaders, former scouts and former scout mothers.

National Collaboration for Youth: Promotes girls to pro-abortion activism and is the driving force behind Spark Action website for youth which supports LGBT rights.

World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS):

MATERIALS ENDORSED BY GIRL SCOUTS

“Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) does not take a position or develop materials on sexuality, birth control or abortion. . .” but they pay upwards of $2 million annually in support of the mission of WAGGGS “to rapidly improve…education and training, especially on sexual and reproductive health and rights” for children.”

Your Voice Your World: (grades 11 & 12) girls are encouraged to explore organizations such as Amnesty International and Population Council, both heavy supporters of Planned Parenthood and abortion rights; advises girls to consider a career as an ACLU lawyer (which supports HHS mandate and abortion rights).

Agent of Change: (grades 4 & 5) asks girls to work with Sierra Club (abortion advocacy and population control group) in a Take Action Project.

aMAZE: (grades 6-8) had at one time referred girls to http://www.astrolog.org, exposing girls to black magik, New Age and pagan theologies. Note: the link has been removed and is no longer there.

Printed Curriculum and their Advocacy Page:

  • Instructs girls to visit “advocacy” websites in search of career opportunities. One of the encouraged sites, idealist.org, lists over 100 positions available in Planned Parenthood. Girls can even view multiple job opportunities that advocate for sex worker rights.
  • GSUSA is a self-proclaimed non-religious organization.
  • Promotes leaders? like Tyra Banks (Victoria Secret Model), Melinda Gates, Venus Williams, etc.
  • Asterisk next to God in the Girl Scout Promise: *Girl Scouts of the USA makes no attempt to define or interpret the word “God” in the Girl Scout Promise. It looks to individual members to establish for themselves the nature of their spiritual beliefs. When making the Girl Scout Promise, individuals may substitute wording appropriate to their own spiritual beliefs for the word “God.”

GSUSA Official Blog: provides links to sexually explicit and pro-abortion content. The blog recently linked to Marie Claire (which has received accolades from Planned Parenthood on its reproductive rights and its work against the Catholic church on contraception and abortion issues), AlterNet, iVillage and in 2012 to Jezebel.com in an article titled “OMFG There’s a New Girls Scouts Cookie” with links to sexually explicit and graphic content as well as abortion mad-libs (Materials prior to 2012: removed after recent “cookie-cotts”).

Media Matters: extremely liberal defender of Planned Parenthood, promoted to girls as the truest source of news information (as shown in the Girl Scouts Cadette workbook).

Stayteen.org: refers all teen pregnancy concerns to Planned Parenthood, endorsed by the Girl Scouts website.

Real Life Real Talk: Planned Parenthood lists partner organizations, including Girls Scouts as outlined in their newsletter and connects the scouts to “Sex, etc. A Website by Teens, for Teens” portraying explicit and graphic sexual content.

Healthy, Happy & Hot: a booklet published by the International Planned Parenthood Federation provided to the GSUSA at the UN conference. The encourages masturbation, “talking dirty”, hetero- and homosexual intercourse, discusses drunk sex and tells HIV-positive youth it is a violation of their rights to inform sexual partners they are infected.

Promotion of literature that mocked the church and recommendations for R-rated movies to 11-13 year old girls have also been removed because of scrutiny like this and protests from parents.

FIGHT OR FLIGHT

“Train up a child the way the way she should go, and when she is older she will not depart from it.”  ~Proverbs 22:6

As Christians and as parents it is our responsibility to ensure that our children are in the world but not of it. We are to protect their innocence and promote Godly values. We need to protect the sanctity of life and the beauty of sexual morality. We need to either take a stand and fight for real purity and honest integrity within the Girl Scouts and its chosen affiliates or we need to remove our devotion and dedication to the Godless entity.

So are your Girl Scout cookie cravings under control? What will you allow to fill your spirit, mind, and body?

They enjoyed the sweet taste of wickedness, letting it melt under their tongue. ~Job 20:12

Michelle Williams vs Leah Darrow

The talk of the town in the past two days has been Michelle Williams. Truthfully, Rick Gervais deserves a Golden Globe for his epic speech to scare the elite liberals of Hollywood.

One speech that has offended many women that evening came from actress Michelle Williams. In her acceptance speech, she cowardly made the false correlation between her professional decisions and her personal decisions claiming that “Because as women and as girls, things can happen to our bodies that are not our choice.” She continues, “I’ve tried my very best to live a life of my own making and not just a series of events that happened to me, but one that I could stand back and look at and recognize my handwriting all over—sometimes messy and scrawling, sometimes careful and precise, but one that I had carved with my own hand. And I wouldn’t have been able to do this without employing a woman’s right to choose: to choose when to have my children, and with whom.”

Clearly, this line is in the guise of a woman’s right to choose an abortion to fulfill a selfish need. I beg to answer the question that has she ever met women who once had an abortion and later in life regretting that fateful decision that has left them scarred, broken, and filled with a hole in their heart.

Leah Darrow

Leah Darrow

A woman that I believe Williams can learn from is a former runway model who is now an evangelist and sought-after speaker, Leah Darrow. Like Williams, Darrow is a celebrity. She was a contestant for America’s Next Top Model. She recalled how she had a road to Damascus experience, which led her back to the Catholic Church. She shares more about it also in her ground-breaking book, The Other Side of Beauty.

After hearing about the news of Williams and ready to give birth to her fifth child, Leah took it to Instagram to slam Michelle Williams for not only her speech but also how being a mom does not keep women from achieving their dreams. Instead, Leah shares the fact that authentic womanhood makes women better moms every time they give their yes to life.

As of today, Leah is now a proud mom of five beautiful children and the wife of a veteran and firefighter. Leah’s “yes” can teach women that choosing to be a mother to one, two, or even fifteen children does not derail us from our dreams and ambitions. Rather, you are willing to sacrifice the things of the world for the sake of your salvation and your family.

The things of the world cannot help you make achievements. Instead, they leave a deeper hole in our hearts. God calls us to something that is bigger than what the world proposes. He calls us to love those around us and to sacrifice the things that give us pleasure for his greater glory.

On behalf of Voices for Life, we congratulate Leah Darrow and her family on the birth of Valor Joseph who was born on the feast of the epiphany. We thank you for your testimony and hope you inspire other women to follow Christ and her mother by saying “yes” to his will.

“When Herod realized that the wise men had deceived him, he flew into a rage and issued an order to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and the surrounding area who were two years old or less, in accordance with the information that he had obtained from the wise men. Thus were fulfilled the words of the prophet Jeremiah: A voice was heard in Ramah, lamenting and sobbing bitterly: Rachel weeping for her children, and refusing to be consoled because they were no more.” Gospel of Matthew

On a mild, Saturday morning in Center City, the prayer vigil started out with four regulars praying in front of the largest abortion facility in murder counts turned into 20 pro-lifers across the greater area to pray, sing Christmas carols, and call the workers and escorts to repent of the murder they are participating in. Even two women who experience abortion first-hand pleaded to the moms to turn away.

It is fitting that today’s caroling took place during the feast of the Holy Innocents. Sadly, like Herod, we have a political party that wants to deem the unborn as expendable through their agenda at all stages of a mother’s pregnancy.

On this feast, let us remember that these innocents cry out for help. this cry resonates today every time we are present outside of the abortion facilities in America. We need to reclaim that first inalienable right to life just as God intended. Life is for every person from the womb to the tomb and everyone in between. We must place them as a high priority over material things.

Holy Innocents, pray for us

An Open Letter to Green Bay Packers

The following is a letter penned by Fr. Richard Heilman in response to the news of Green Bay Packer’s franchise support of Planned Parenthood.

This letter will be delivered on Monday, December 23. This comes in response to the news that, regrettably, the Green Bay Packer Foundation contributes to Planned Parenthood (see HERE). Please pray that this beloved organization – once coached by the legendary Vince Lombardi, who was a devout Catholic and daily Mass goer – sees the error of their ways. If you’d like to write your own letter, you can see the contact information from mine.

Dear Mr. Cardella,

Those who know me, have witnessed my lifelong passion for the Green Bay Packers. I was a kid in the 1960s, or as we like to refer to it in Wisconsin: “The Lombardi Era.” Inspired by Coach Vince Lombardi and the many titles his Green Bay Packers won for our state, I worked very hard in high school and received Wisconsin All-State Football honors. From there, I headed off to college, fully intending to work my way up to become a Green Bay Packer someday, until a neck injury ended my football career in the first year of college. I joke that “God broke my neck” to change my direction, and now I am a Catholic priest.

In 1997, I was a Parochial Vicar in Janesville, WI (home and parish of Speaker Paul Ryan). The Packers and Brett Favre were making everyone a Packer fan. Caught up in the Brett Favre/Green Bay Packer enthusiasm, at the beginning of the 1997 season, after the final blessing at Mass, I would say, “1,2,3” and the congregation would respond, “Go Packers!” Then the Packers would win. In the second week of the season, I had to go out of town, and the Packers lost. Members of the parish half-joked, “Don’t do that again … we need to say ‘Go Packers’ so they win.” Three weeks later, I had to go out of town again, and the Packers had their second loss. Now members of the parish seemed to put joking aside, and said, “Don’t leave!” Five wins later, I had to go out of town again, and they lost. I had a local reporter of the Janesville Gazette in my pews, and he thought it was a cute story to print. He did, and the New York Times picked up the story. So, on the last game of the season, ABC, NBC, and CBS set up their cameras in our choir loft, so they could film the “Go Packers” cheer at the end of Mass. We did it, and the Packers won, and they were off to the playoffs.

Even the book I wrote, Church Militant Field Manual, quotes legendary Packer Coach, Vince Lombardi, as he was a devout Catholic and daily Mass goer. Here’s my favorite quote:
“And in truth, I’ve never known a man worth his salt who in the long run, deep down in his heart, didn’t appreciate the grind, the discipline. There is something in good men that really yearns for discipline and the harsh reality of head to head combat. I don’t say these things because I believe in the ‘brute’ nature of men or that men must be brutalized to be combative. I believe in God, and I believe in human decency. But I firmly believe that any man’s finest hour – his greatest fulfillment to all he holds dear – is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle – victorious.”
I’m even a part-owner of the Green Bay Packers, as a stockholder.

So, you can see that, if I am not the most super of super fans, I am among the most super.
I wrestled with this for several days, after discovering that the Packers donated to Planned Parenthood. But, here’s the thing. I needed to understand just how “attached” I am to the Green Bay Packers. I believe God is challenging me, “Do you really want to do EVERYTHING you can to end the worst genocide in human history? Prove it.”  And so, I can’t do this.

So, here I am Lord, I come to do Your will. I will cease watching/following the Green Bay Packers until that day when they come to their senses, admit their egregious mistake, and cease to funnel money to those who kill innocent children. In the meantime, I will pray for this conversion of the heart of my beloved Green Bay Packers. This is SO HARD, but I love God and those babies more than the Green Bay Packers.

Finally, I have a very large following on social media, as well as 57,000 members of the United States Grace Force, of which I am the leader. I have shared this letter with them.

In Christ,
