Prayer in Reparation for Supreme Court Justices

We were all devastated  by the recent Supreme Court rulings in favor of the killing of innocent preborn children and felt betrayed in particular by Justice Roberts.  Below is a prayer written by Sandy Slater, President of the Bucks County Pro-Life Coalition for our SC Justices.

When you are feeling angry or defeated, I hope that you remember first that God is in charge, and  then say this beautiful prayer that Sandy composed.  Prayer is the most powerful weapon on earth and we all need to remember that and pray more fervently and more often.

Let Us Pray

Lord God we come to you today united in prayer for an end to the cruel killing of innocent unborn lives who are not given the opportunity of taking their first breath.  We come to You humbly to do our part in praying for an end to this unconscionable treatment of babies that were meant to be born, to be happy, to romp and play as they grow and then some day answer your call by giving back to You as a doctor, lawyer, nurse and any other call that they heard from You.

You are a Judicial God, deeply concerned with laws and our human legal system. You are the Lawgiver, the Advocate, and the Judge of the earth; the very foundation of Your throne is righteousness and justice. We have your biblical teachings as our guide.  Our hearts cry out to You for forgiveness for each justice who decided against the Louisiana law which was about doctors having admitting privileges to a local hospital after an abortion procedure.  Lord, Chief Justice Roberts decided against the law which is identical to the Texas law that he voted for in 2016.  We ask forgiveness for ourselves for times that we have failed to pray for an end to injustices in our land.

Help me in my disappointment of Justice Roberts and all the justices that felt that women were deprived if the doctor had admitting privileges to a nearby hospital. Forgive them if there was any demonic influence in this decision.  We cry out to You for each Justice of the Supreme Court to remember that they should not play god from the bench.  They that are appointed for life.  Holy Spirit enlighten them with the gifts of Your Spirit especially of heavenly Wisdom, Understanding and Fortitude in this time of darkness.  Give to each as they deserve. We ask You this in Your name.  Amen.

Urgent Prayer Request

We often come across messages on email or on social media that need to be shared and acted upon.  Below is one I received from a friend  requesting prayer for two mothers in difficult positions.  We ask for your prayers for these mothers,  and for all mothers who find themselves in crisis situations that they will resist the pressures put upon them to abort and  continue with their pregnancies.

Prayer request (2)

  1. A young woman who is pregnant with the child of a young man who recently died. She wants to keep the baby but almost everyone around her is urging abortion.
  1. A mother who is pregnant with quadruplets!!! She and her husband resisted doctors urging “reduction”.  The pregnancy is now at 23 weeks.  Please pray for all the babies and also for the couple as they already have other children.

Prayer Campaign for Politicians Week Three: Nancy Pelosi #onesoulatatime

“I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone, for kings and all those in authority…” — 1 Timothy 2:1-2a

Nancy Pelosi photo

Political leaders, like all people, need the forgiveness of sins and the new life that comes through putting one’s faith in Jesus Christ. “God our Savior . . . . wants all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (1Timothy 2:3b-4). Praying for the salvation of political leaders should be a top priority in a Christian’s life (Acts 4:10-12; Romans 10:9).  God’s Prayer for Political Leaders

Praying for salvation is the most important prayer we will ever pray. Being persistent in prayer for a lost soul has turned many from darkness to the Light of Christ. That is especially true of  politicians.  We will never have godly government without godly leaders who bow the knee to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  No one is beyond the reach of His Hand when we pray for conversion. As we intercede on behalf of our politicians, be mindful that we are all sinners saved by His grace.

Nancy Pelosi is the focus of our prayer campaign for week three. She has led a privileged life and is the richest woman in the House of Representatives. She wields a lot of power as speaker of the house. As a professed Catholic, her support for Planned Parenthood and position on abortion is against Catholic doctrine and the Word of God.

Holy Spirit, please set Nancy Pelosi free from the delusions of riches, political power and the lies of Satan, especially the issue of abortion. “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32

Lord Jesus, we pray Nancy Pelosi repents of her sins, surrenders her life to you and walks in your will and your ways. “I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.” Luke 5:32

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Cor 5:17

“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12

Jesus doorknocking
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”  Revelations 3:20

Dear Jesus, thank you for knocking at the door of our heart. Please help Nancy Pelosi answer your knock on the door of her heart. We ask this in Your Holy Name, Amen.

Some Good News from Delaware County, Pa.

Ever wonder if our prayers and public witness have an impact?  Here is some good news from Delaware County, Pennsylvania which was reported in the Pro-Life Union of Greater Philadelphia newsletter.  As we are asked to do, please pray for Mr. Adamo and his advisors, and please remember that your public witness and prayers do indeed have a positive impact.

crozer houspital

In 1973, three OB-Gyns at Crozer Hospital formed a partnership and created the Reproductive Health Counseling Center (RHCC) on the hospital grounds to begin aborting children.  Immediately, the pro-life people of Delaware County began protesting there. In the 1970s, 80s and 90s, there were hundreds of arrests of pro-lifers and thousands of deaths of unborn children.

In 2011, when Kermit Gosnell’s crimes were discovered, the Pa. Dept. of Health was forced by legislation to begin inspecting abortion clinics.  Fourteen abortion facilities were shut down for violations, one being RHCC.  After this killing center was shut down, Delaware County Women’s Center opened up on the property of Crozer Chester Hospital. This center offers no surgical abortions, but the abortion pills given there have taken the lives of approximately 1,300 children each year.

Last winter, folks again began to witness at this abortion facility and this Lent, Respect Life groups from various churches nearby ramped up their prayer and witness there.

Led by pro-life attorney, John Williamson, pro-life people began to write letters and emails to the President of Crozer Hospital, Peter Adamo and finally a meeting was granted. Ted Meehan, Dr. John Huyette and John Williamson met with Mr. Adamo and asked that they work together to make Crozer Chester Medical Center abortion free.  Mr. Adamo does not want the hospital to be associated with abortion. This meeting bore amazing fruit!  It was agreed that there would be no elective abortions performed in the hospital and that there might be consideration that the lease of Delaware County Women’s Center be terminated. They also agreed to ask the Center that there be no abortions performed during the pandemic.  They will consider allowing pro-life counselors to be on the property to give women life-saving information.  We will let you know when we hear any updates. Please pray for Mr. Adamo and his advisors to make the choice for the health and welfare of moms and babies in Delaware County! And to remain TRUE to their commitment to terminate the lease.

Translating the Gospel of Life into the culture

The following is from Tom Stevens, CEO and President of the Pro-Life Union of Greater Philadelphia.

The last time I led the monthly Bible Study that I do for the ladies at Guiding Star Ministries Home for Single Pregnant Moms and Children, I made a handout.  It included an artistic graphic I made with a scripture verse on it.   It happened to be Ash Wednesday … so I used a simple translation of Mark 1:15, “He said, “The right time is now here.  God’s kingdom is very near. Change your hearts and lives, and believe the Good News!”  To make it attractive to the ladies I put flowers, a heart, and a butterfly on the image.

Why?  Why are we trying to translate the Gospel of Life into something that might be relevant and attractive to residents of a maternity home, or to customers at an abortion center, or anywhere we go?  Because the Good News of the Gospel of Life changes hearts and minds when and if received. Then it changes decisions, actions, and behaviors.  Heart, mind, and behavior change is required to bring an end to abortion, euthanasia, and every attack on the Sanctity of Life. It’s up to us to do our best to bring the Gospel of Life to the culture.

How can we best translate the Gospel of Life to reach the “unreachable”?  To reach an urban culture where sex is without boundaries or covenant and single moms having babies sometimes is worn as a badge of honor, or an avenue to welfare; to a suburban culture where self, convenience, self-help, and pleasure are gods … and all where abortion is seen as a simple and quite acceptable option?  This is THE question often on my mind.  As I stand in front of an abortion center or create a social media post, or sit in a meeting … HOW CAN WE REACH the confused, broken, hardened, untouchable, churchless, and traumatized who are having abortions?  HOW CAN WE BE IN their world/culture/sphere WAY BEFORE pregnancy, abortion clinic appointment, abortion?  Be part of the answer… join a Pro-Life Union team. Praying for two moms who walked away from PA’s worst abortion center

The following is from Tom Stevens, the Director of the Pro-Life Union of Greater Philadelphia

Please pray!

Like Mary and Elizabeth …

As I was praying at Philadelphia Women’s Center (Pennsylvania’s worst abortion clinic) last Friday, two young girls came out of the abortion center and when they caught my eye, one asked if I was protesting.  I said, “I’m praying and I’m here to help.”  She said,  “I don’t want an abortion but I already have a two-year-old, and I don’t want to have a baby suffer.”  I said, “Everybody suffers, but everybody has a lot of wonderful moments in life, too.  I can’t solve all your problems, but I am here to help and we have a team of people who are ready to support you and your baby.”

When I asked how far along she was, she said, “Look, I’m 17 weeks.”  She lifted her jacket and showed me her belly.  There was no doubt.  I asked what she was doing here.  She said she and her sister were getting information about the ‘procedure’ and scheduling an abortion for Tuesday (tomorrow).  She said she wouldn’t go through with it.  Her sister, who is 10 weeks pregnant, said she wouldn’t do it either.  Praise God!

PLEASE PRAY that they stick with their intention to choose life.

Marlene Downing, Dir. of Hope Pregnancy Center, and Member of Pro-Life Union Board of Directors, is helping me in counseling them, searching for housing, and providing for material needs.

THIS IS A TIME of GRACE … even in the midst of the pandemic, shut-down, and the increased atmosphere of fear.  God is on the move.

Let’s all join in praying for great grace for moms discovering that they are pregnant right now … and pray for all those who are serving them.

Be at peace and know that the Lord is good.

Saves During Holy Week/Call to Action

The following is from an email sent out by Dr. Monique Ruberu.

Dear friends,

some quick good news for you.
1. on Good Friday we got news of a girl Pat had encountered outside of PP at 12th and locust who chose life. We are in the process of getting her situated with housing and then we will be looking for a team to walk with her going forward.
2. Yesterday I heard about another girl who took the abortion pill at 12th and locust whose fiancée found info about Abortion pill reversal and they started the process to try and save their twin babies last night… please pray for its success… if all goes well we will be putting together a team to walk with this family in the  Philly area as well.
3. Although the prayer was disbanded by police on Good Friday morning a few of the prayer warriors were able to reconvene and pray at 777 with no problems from the police we normally work with and love.
please consider calling Philadelphia license and inspection

and advising that they shut down these abortion centers during this pandemic which are using valuable PPE, putting the lives of the workers and patients at risk while doing elective terminations.
4. if any of you would like to continue prayer with a MAX of 1 or two people an hour outside of these two downtown abortion centers, we will be restarting sidewalk servants on a Tuesday of this week.
if you want to be included on that list to continue getting awesome updates and volunteering some time in prayer let me know.

Spring Campaign is Finished, NOW WHAT?

The following is from Rachel Hayes, 40 Days for Life Coordinator for West Chester, Pennsylvania.  Rachel has some helpful suggestions which we have posted below. Although they pertain to Pennsylvania, and particularly to Chester County, Pennsylvania, others may benefit from her insights.

Thank you for your devotion to prayer, fasting, and peaceful vigil over the course of this largest ever spring 40 Days for Life campaign. In spite of the suspension of the public vigil worldwide, we can rejoice for the moms who were encouraged and empowered to choose Life, and for the 346 babies that were saved! I am grateful for each of you, and God’s answers to our many prayers.

I would be ecstatic if West Chester Planned Parenthood closes, and we never need another prayer campaign outside that facility. May it be so! However, even if this does occur, our prayers, giving, and engagement with our culture must remain a priority to truly shift us from a culture of death to a culture of Life where abortion is made both unavailable and unthinkable. Though 40 Days for Life is an essential outreach for bringing an end to abortion where we live, the battle for the lives of innocent pre-born children takes place 365 days a year. What can you be doing now?

PRAYER: As always, continue to offer up prayers for all the initiatives going on across our country and local communities that engage the culture of death with truth and grace. Pray for the effectiveness of the frontline work of sidewalk advocacy and pregnancy centers that more women would be reached with life-affirming parenting choices, and that more children will be spared. Pray and ask the Lord to help you live in a way that promotes Life, and ask what he may be calling you to do.

GIVINGAre we serious about ending abortion in the U.S.? To a large extent, if our collective giving is any indication of how seriously we take this issue, the answer is no. Of 400 billion dollars annually given away in the U.S., only .2% of that money goes to all pro-life causes combined. Consider how you can support a local pregnancy center  with your time, talent, and financial resources. The nearest pregnancy medical center to WC PP is Chester County Women Services

ENGAGEMENTThere are many efforts across our nation engaging in the public square. Consider upping your game: Do you know what’s going on at the governmental level in PA? Is your calendar marked for National and State marches for Life. Do you know where to go for pro-life training, educational, and news resources? Consider following  Chester County Pro-Life Coalition and the Pro-Life Union of Greater Philadelphia  on Facebook for keeping up to date on public witness opportunities and events once we are through the Covid-19 health crisis.

For your planning ahead, the fall 40 Days for Life campaign is Wednesday, September 23 – Sunday, November 1. Follow us @chesco40days.

Lastly, if you feel called to public witness year round outside of WC PP during their abortion focused operating hours on Thursdays and Fridays, let me know. 40 Days for Life will be launching a 365-40 Days in the future, and I would like to know who has interest in this initiative.

Thank you again for being a part of the beginning of the end of abortion in West Chester.

As we approach  Resurrection Sunday, let us reflect on the wonder of the Author of Life choosing to begin his earthly journey in the humblest and most vulnerable state as an innocent, dependent child in the womb of his blessed mother. In Christ Jesus we rejoice in the wonder of life, and in the gift of eternal life to come. Health, safety, and a blessed Holy Week to you and yours!

Zoom Prayer Meeting on Good Friday

The following is from an email blast sent by Dr. Monique Ruberu

Pat and I are so proud of all of you!! You guys have continued to pray and that prayer support has allowed the few out on the front lines to be so effective…

40 days officially ended on the 4th so now we are into sidewalk servant time, but since we are unable to do our usual Good Friday closing and vigil outside of PP we thought we could possibly come together online with maybe a few people coming to us from the front lines at 12th and locust…

We can have a max of 10 people with physical distancing downtown, so if you want to go there please let me know so we can be ready for you with a mask and know where you will stand.
Pat will have a cross down there and hopes to do stations of the cross.

Please email Monique for the Zoom link at
