This coming Friday, March 26th we will be holding a rally outside of Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick’s Langhorne Office to protest his votes on both the Equality Act and the ERA. Most know of his recent vote on the Equality Act but might not remember his vote for the ERA. (The pro-abortion movement is trying to “air drop” the 1972 Equal Rights Amendment into the U.S. Constitution! If their unprecedented scheme is successful, pro-life legislation nationwide could be destroyed.)
We will gather outside the office building at 1 Summit Square at 11:00 am. Please see the flyer for this event and a Code of Conduct below. Please print out the flyer and make sure to read the Code of Conduct.
Rep. Fitzpatrick’s office is located in the office building at the northwest corner of the Summit Square Shopping Center. You can enter the shopping center on Newtown Langhorne Road (Newtown Bypass).
Planned Parenthood, 1144 Locust Street, Center City Philadelphia, 19107 9:00-10:00 AM. At 1:00 PM, Living Stations of the Cross commences at St. Patrick Church, at 20th and Locust Streets. The procession will go from 20th and Locust around the city to the Basilica before the 3PM service. The Living Stations of the Cross will be performed by high school and college students from Philly Youth Missions.
We encourage everyone to join in the Rally & Protest of Representative Brian Fitzpatrick’s vote on the Equality Act Friday, March 26th at 11:00 am. Please see the information from Mike McMonagle below. Post also includes a flyer from Mike and a link to Code of Conduct for Friday’s Rally.
Rep. Fitzpatrick has compiled a mostly pro-life voting record on abortion-related legislation. Thus, his continued support for the EA reflects poorly on the pro-life position and indicates that our response to his 2019 vote for the EA was quite inadequate.
The supporters of the Culture of Death will relentlessly continue their efforts to pass the EA, just as they did for legalizing child killing until birth and same-sex marriage. Sad to say, but I believe that the leaders of the Culture of Death understand Scripture and recognize (and thus seek to destroy) God’s image more than most participants in the pro-life movement.
Human life is sacred because human beings are created in God’s image. The male-female difference (and, thus, the conjugal relationship between husband and wife) reflects that image.
“In God’s image, He created them. Male and female, He created them.” Genesis 1:27
The awful reality is that our “pro-life” Congressman’s vote to change federal law to eliminate any recognition of the male-female difference (and punish those who still recognize that difference) should outrage all of us and motivate us to respond zealously, faithfully and effectively to Rep. Fitzpatrick’s vote for the EA.
Attend a Protest and Rally at Rep. Fitzpatrick’s District Office on Friday, March 26, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon at Route 413 and Langhorne-Newtown Road in Langhorne.
Ample parking is available at this location in the nearby Summit Square Shopping Center.
The purpose of this Event is to educate and motivate other pro-life citizens on this issue by generating public square debate and coverage of this issue and possibly schedule future such protests at his Office and Events that he attends.
Attached is a promotional flyer for this Event (see below) We will also be providing signs that I propose to prepare for this and future Fitzpatrick protests. You are welcome to bring your own sign.
2. Please circulate the attached flyer among family, friends and your Parish or Church members that urges them to contact Rep. Fitzpatrick on this issue.
3.Please make your own phone call soon and send your own letter or email to Rep. Fitzpatrick on this issue. His contact information is:

Prospects for the Equality Act
The U.S. Senate is currently not likely to pass the EA (despite the current unanimous support for all 50 Democrat Senators) because its passage is likely to remain subject to the 60-vote filibuster rule. There are currently much less than ten Republican Senators who would support the EA. While Pa.’s U.S. Senator Pat Toomey did not take a public position on the EA during the 2019-2020 term, his Legislative Assistant recently informed me that he is very likely to oppose the EA and support a filibuster against it.
The Harms of the Equality Act
The EA amends current federal civil rights laws to also prohibit discrimination based on “sexual orientation,” and “gender identity,” as well as re-defining “sex.” The harms of such a law include the following:
It ends all restrictions on federal funding for abortions, which have saved millions of children and expectant mothers from abortion.
This expansion of abortion occurs because the EA re-defines “sex” to include “pregnancy, childbirth or a related medical condition.” The EA also states that “pregnancy, childbirth or a related medical condition shall not receive less favorable treatment than other physical conditions.” Some prior court decisions and pro-abortion government officials have established that a “related medical condition” includes abortion.
This legislation rests in the falsehood that certain sexual behaviors or orientations and/or “identities” must be treated as immutable, such as race or sex, and sex must be treated by “gender identity” rather than biological reality.
This legislation provides no protections for the civil and religious liberties of Americans who reject these falsehoods. For example, this legislation enables parents, who object to “gender transition surgery” or harmful medications for their child, to lose custody of their minor children. This legislation also authorizes school officials to be punished who wish to protect the privacy of girls in bathrooms and locker rooms, as well as female athletic competitors from boys who “identify” as girls.
This legislation devastates health care professionals and institutions that seek to operate on pro-life principles. For example, this legislation authorizes individuals and/or government officials to punish Catholic hospitals and/or health care professionals who decline to commit abortions or “gender transition surgeries.”
Because of these harms, all national, state, and local pro-life organizations, as well as Catholic advocacy and medical professional organizations, opposed this legislation. For example, in addition to our organization and our Bucks County affiliate, the other organizations that oppose this legislation include the following:
National Right-to-Life Committee
Susan B. Anthony List
Family Research Council
National Catholic Medical Association & its Philadelphia area affiliates
S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB)
The USCCB provided a cogent summary of the vast harms of the EA.
“[T]he Equality Act would impose sweeping new norms that negatively impact the unborn, health care, charitable services, schools, personal privacy, athletics, free speech, religious liberties, and parental rights. The Act’s unsound definitions of ‘sex’ and ‘gender identity’ would erase women’s distinct, hard-won recognition in federal laws. Its sex-based nondiscrimination terms would end women’s shelters and many single-sex schools. It would close faith-based foster care and adoption agencies that honor children’s rights to a mother and father. The bill would even act as an abortion mandate.”
The temperature was below freezing but that didn’t stop about 40 people from coming out for our monthly First Friday Life Chain the other day. Many brought diapers, wipes, formula and other supplies for our pregnancy help centers, who because of restrictions due to COVID, are running low on supplies. Thank you to all who braved the cold and brought baby supplies with them.
Our next First Friday Life Chain will be held in May as the First Friday in April falls on Good Friday. Please open and share the flyer below for our Good Friday services.
One note: when you go to pray outside of Planned Parenthood in Warminster, please don’t park in the lot directly across the street from PP. The owner has asked that we refrain from parking there because of the many trucks which pull into their lot.
Everyone is invited to be part of the 1.5 mile prayer walk in St. Louis, MO on March 6th. Details and program are listed below.
Human Life Action is proud to join with the Archdiocese of St. Louis, MO, and the Diocese of Belleville, IL, and many other great pro-lifers to announce the March on the Arch, scheduled for Saturday, March 6, in St. Louis, MO.
We are committed to standing up for the most vulnerable in our community while building a community that respects and defends life at all stages. That means March on the Arch 2021 will look different than in the past. This year, marchers will depart at intervals on a 1.5 mile prayer walk in the heart of our region, starting outside the last abortion facility in Missouri.
Arrive before your chosen start time to kick off your MORNING prayer walk with one of our inspiring speakers (listed below) brought to you by Master of Ceremonies Zip Rzeppa. Prayer Walk Location and START Times
The 9:30 AM start time is reserved for those at a high risk for COVID-19. Other departures will occur at scheduled intervals between 10 AM and 2 PM. The 1.5 mile route will begin outside the last abortion facility in Missouri.
The Pro-Life Union of Greater Philadelphia invites everyone to join them this Saturday (tomorrow) outside one of the center city abortion mills in Philadelphia. If you are new to the movement, this Saturday is a good way to learn about praying and giving witness outside of these centers.
This Saturday, February 13th, from 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM we want you to come down to the Planned Parenthood at 12th and Locust to join us for “Newby Saturday”.
Praying and witnessing outside of an abortion center can save lives, but it can also be nerve racking. That is why we established “Newby Saturday,”! This event is designed to help new or first-time witnesses develop an effective approach to helping women courageously choose life for their babies!
Enjoy some of the photos from yesterday’s event. Nearly 200 people came out to give witness to life, many were from Students for Life, sporting a purple knit hat that read: “Pro Life Generation” across their foreheads.
For the blog post about the event, read about it here.
In addition to the day outside of Planned Parenthood, learn why I still made the trip to DC for the March for Life, despite the restrictions and the switch to virtual.
Today, while everyone was home due to the virtual March for Life, I was in our nation’s capital for a big weekend.
I got there early and met a couple of local regulars.
A few minutes later, 100 college students and regional coordinators from Students for Life came out and help packed the sidewalk.
I led the praying of the Divine Mercy Chaplet. As we were transitioning into the rosary, a young man dropped off his girlfriend and taunted verbal and even hateful things at us. It was tempting to stop the praying. However, I kept going without stopping like a train on full speed to its destination. I even felt that my Guardian Angel was watching over me as that same man made threats to bring a gun and unload bullets on me and fellow pro-lifers.
Thankfully everyone kept the faith while their composure and we managed to have an eventful day on the sidewalk filling it with love, mercy, and even hope as it lies only a mile from one of the most beautiful Basilicas in the country on the grounds of Catholic University of America.
The devil is real and he knows that his time is short. His weapons are vices and principalities. Ours are prayers, works of service and mercy, and even the Eucharist.
Please see information from Maryland March for Life pertaining to their March for Life scheduled for February 4, 2021 below.
The COVID-19 pandemic continues to create numerous challenges. We would never dream of pausing or canceling the life saving work our coalition engages in each year during the General Assembly Legislative Session. However, we have to recognize the need to adapt to the current situation.
We will not be allowed to host our religious services, youth rally, Lawyer’s Mall Rally, or post-march mixer due to restrictions in place at all of our regular venues. All back-up options have been explored. We intend to host a “Life Chain-like” event on the public sidewalks outside the Miller Senate Building with individuals or family groups spread 6-feet apart. In accord with current Annapolis-specific executive orders, this event will require face coverings for attendees (unless unable due to age or medical conditions). Lastly, with the potential for a shortened legislative session AND the expectation that crucial legislation will be introduced early this year, we are moving the 2021 Maryland March for Life UP to Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Please see the updated Eventbrite for specific times and locations and any updates from now until then. Please also check out our website at mdmarchforlife.com for additional information.
As always, thank you for your support and we look forwarded to hosting you at our newly designed March at its rescheduled date and time.
