Retreat will include talks, small groups, Mass, adoration and time for confession. The Retreat is led by Samantha Kelley, the Founder and President of FIERCE Athlete (fierceathlete.org). Sam is a young Catholic woman, trained in teaching the Theology of the Body.
Marie DiCecco has been a high school health educator for the past 35 years and has recently completed an Allied Health program in women’s health care.
The Sisters of Life will be attending, speaking and leading small groups.
This retreat is sponsored by St. Peter Respect Life Committee
The following is from Evelyn Walsh, Director, Rachel’s Vineyard in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. This retreat is for post-abortive women who are looking for support and healing.
I am pleased to announce that our Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat scheduled for the weekend of October 2 – 4, 2020 at Our Lady of Czestochowa is confirmed and will take place. The coronavirus has upended so many lives in recent months, but I can assure you our team is taking every precaution to meet each person where they are in their concerns and fears.
Jesus waits for us all when we visit Him in the Blessed Sacrament. We will have Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration from the beginning of our post-abortive healing retreat on Friday, October 2nd until it ends on Sunday, October 4th. The team and participants are eternally grateful to you for taking the time to pray for our intentions as the hard work of reconciling with God and accepting His graces and forgiveness occurs during that weekend.
If it’s possible for you to come to the Ave Maria Retreat House and spend a Holy Hour with Our Lord during our retreat, please contact Michelle Garges at 267-374-0235 firstname.lastname@example.org. She is looking forward to hearing from you to schedule your time. As we get closer to the retreat she will advise you as to what the door code number to the retreat house will be. Please keep in mind that this is not a place for small children to join you. If the sound of a small child or baby is heard by our group, it could possibly trigger a negative emotional response for the participant. We go to great lengths to create a very safe place for them to grieve their children and I would like to make sure that even though Our Lord loves the little ones to come to Him, this is one time we would advise against it. If you are new to the Ave Maria Retreat House, the Adoration Chapel is on the second floor straight up the stairs or you can use the elevator. The chapel is directly above our meeting room and I can assure you that your prayers are felt flowing down upon us. The enemy is not pleased with the beautiful healing that occurs during this retreat. Your prayers are an integral part of each participant feeling renewed, refreshed and healed by His love.
You have my utmost gratitude for your prayers. Please consider praying for the intentions of this Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat even though you may not be available to schedule time at the retreat house chapel to pray there. Start praying even today to encourage anyone who is anxious about attending that weekend to find the courage to call me soon. As of today, we are just about full. It’s very common to receive registrations at the last minute due to the content and nature of this retreat. You may even know of someone in need of post-abortive healing. I look forward to hearing from them.
As always, we love to receive your special treats such as cookies, brownies, (sweets of any kind really), and healthier appetizers (hummus, veggies or fruits) to offer during our breaks throughout the weekend. If you would like to drop some goodies off, please contact me in advance as to what it is you plan to bring so that I can keep a list (so that we don’t end up with 4 dozen chocolate chip cookies ;). And, if it’s on your heart and you have the means to donate financially to offer scholarships to those in need it would be most helpful. May God bless you for your generosity.
One last thing, due to Covid-19 protocols everywhere we go nowadays, please wear your mask to the retreat house. We will have bottles of hand sanitizer everywhere throughout the building for your use as well. Rachel’s Vineyard Ministries will take reasonable measures, in accordance with Centers for Disease Control (CDC), state, and local guidelines to provide a safe and sanitary environment for our Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat. Thank you for your understanding.
