Is Fatherhood Essential? Reflecting on Father’s Day

It goes without showing that our culture has been going down a slow but declining drain.

We have seen an increase in crime, fatherless homes, sexual promiscuity, secularism, and even incarcerations. Why? It’s all because of the lack of father figures in the lives of children.

In 2003, Jennifer Schwartz from Penn State University, did a study on what is the cause of so many incarceration among children. She discovered that there has been a missing compartment in the household, a father figure.

As it turned out, Schwartz discovered what the complete problem was for these many young teens are imprisoned. They had no father in the household. Read more here.

Fathers Neglect

It appears that it can be applied today. Pope Francis once talked about a very dangerous plague in our culture known as the “throwaway culture”. This throwaway culture can be applied to the abortion industry.

Fathers to be are taught that they do not have to take responsibility for their pre-marital affairs with another girl. This is the most dangerous thing to say to a father. Even fathers regret their lost children in the hyperactive culture of death. Women’s rights achieved this victory when they intoxicated masculinity just to tear down men with the venom of feminism.

A man’s job in this culture is to stand against the waves of modernism. The father’s first and foremost job is to protect his family. Without his protection, the family is vulnerable to the tyranny of the world.

Man Up

We are living in hard times due to weak men. I see many wimps walk their girlfriends into the abortion facility every time I am on the sidewalk. It infuriates me, yet I have to offer it up to God for him to awaken his senses. However, it must make us stronger in order to create good times.

Men, throughout history, have risen to the occasion. Whether it were to do their duty to fight, provide, and even support. Now it would be the time for brave God-fearing men to step up to the plate to end the culture of death.

Men, it’s time to make and take a stand. The culture of modernism, secularism, and even relativism can end when you become more involved with your faith by leading your children and family to Christ. It will be a challenge, yes. However, when you place God first, you will move mountains and leap over the toughest hurdles.

There is a solution. Men, it’s time to step out on the sidewalk and pray. Visit Sidewalks Servants and Sign Up.

MAN UP!

Voices for Life Prayer Campaign: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez #onesoulatatime

Voices for Life prayer campaign continues into the 4th week.

AOC

This week please join us in praying for NY Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Ocasio-Cortez has been the subject of some memes that attack her intelligence. I know because I have neighbors that love using her as a punchline. Here, she is the subject of prayer for her to open her eyes as she supported the murder of 1/3 of her peers. When I did my research on her, it has occurred to me that she is just two months older than me

I chose her for three reasons:

  1. She is originally from Venezuela where socialism is drying the very bone of a once productive country.
  2. She has made a poor metaphor about abortion
    1. Comparing abortion to dog-breeding
  3. She is unapologetically pro-abortion
    1. Population Control
    2. Slams Georgia Lawmakers for Abortion Ban
    3. Force Americans to pay for abortion with taxpaying dollars

Let us pray for Representative Ocasio-Cortez’s:

  • That God sends many Christians across her path to share the Gospel
  • That the light of Christ sets her free from the deceit and darkness of satan
  • That she falls to her knees and surrenders her life to Jesus Christ, her only hope for salvation
  • That the Holy Spirit shows her overwhelming proof that abortion is murder and
  • That she becomes an advocate for mothers and their unborn babies.

Please join me this week in remembering Representative Ocasio-Cortez in your daily prayers.

Now, please join me in prayer.

Fount of Mercy Prayer
Heavenly Father, in the Name of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit, we come to You with a contrite heart and with faith for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez that You will give her the grace of conversion. O blood and water that gushed forth from the heart of Jesus, as a fount of mercy for us, I trust in You. Enlighten this mind that is ensnared in ignorance and sin and darkness. Bring her into the fold of the Holy Catholic Church. Amen.

“Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.”  James 1:21

Mother’s Day Rally Asks Why Churches Non-Essential But Abortion Facilities Are

On a beautiful Saturday morning, 40 pro-lifers gathered outside of the Philadelphia Women’s Center for a pre-Mother’s Day rally.

Pat Stanton opened the rally with a prayer that stresses the importance of being created for God and by God for a purpose. He later asked the question as to why would churches be closed yet abortion facilities remain open under a communist governor like Tom Wolf.

The speakers included Marlene Downing of Hope Pregnancy, Katelyn D’Adamo of Generation Life, Fr. Michael Moriarty of Legionnaires of Christ, and Pastor Herb Lusk III.

Marlene stressed the importance of praying for the conversion of not just the mothers but also those that are accessory to the slaughter of innocent blood. She even knew that God has a plan for when the facility will be closed for good. She encouraged everyone to be steadfast and present.

Katelyn, the acting Director of Generation Life, shared how her closest friend was pregnant while attending college. Because of Katelyn being present, her friend chose life and graduated second in her class.

Following Katelyn was Kim Savage. Twenty years ago, Kim became one of the first members of Generation Life. She is now a mother of four. She shared about her adoption story and reflected on what it meant to be a mother.

Pastor Herb of Greater Exodus Church reminded everyone to come from a place to love in order to change hearts. Drawing from the story of Hannah in the Old Testament, prayed for a child and turned out to be one of the greatest prophets, Samuel. She would dedicate him to God.

Fr. Michael Moriarty concluded the rally with how he shared the fact that his mom chose life despite being an alcoholic and dedicated his priesthood to helping the poor in Kensington.

A blessed Mother’s Day to all the moms out there. Thank you for your yes to life. You’re heroes.

“You risk your heart every day to become a mom.” Fr. Mike Schmitz

4 Percent of Sermons Mention Abortion, New Study Finds

“Even though he gave quotable sermons addressing abortions, my priest was urged to avoid the subject by people. Sad!”

Black Pastor Preaching

Abortion is one issue that pastors avoid including in their sermons.  Following is an article by Michael Foust of Christian Headlines on the Pew Research Center.

About one in five churches across the United States during the spring of 2019 heard a sermon mentioning abortion, according to a new Pew Research Center survey that showed a disparity between evangelical and mainline churches on the issue.

Nineteen percent of churches heard at least one sermon mentioning abortion, with evangelical Protestant (22 percent), Catholic (19 percent) and historically black Protestant churches (18 percent) being the most likely to include a sermon on abortion during the study period and mainline churches (10 percent) the least likely.

Most sermons were in opposition to abortion, Pew said.

Overall, 4 percent of all sermons in U.S. churches mentioned abortion during the study period, including 4 percent of evangelical sermons, 5 percent of Catholic sermons and 3 percent of sermons in historically black Protestant churches. Two percent of sermons in mainline Protestant churches mentioned abortion.

The survey examined online sermons from more than 6,400 U.S. churches between April 7 and June 1, 2019. The survey period did not include what often is called Sanctity of Human Life Sunday or Pro-Life Sunday, an annual day in January when sermons on abortion are more common.

“While the database is not representative of all U.S. Christian sermons, it offers a window into what many Americans hear each week from the pulpit,” Pew’s Dennis Quinn wrote in an online analysis.

Meanwhile, sermons that mention abortion rarely dwell on the topic but instead mention it in only one segment of the sermon: “three-quarters of all sermons that mention abortion do so in just one segment,” according to Pew. (Pew divided sermons into 250-word segments.)

Churches with fewer members also were more likely to hear about abortion in a sermon. Although 21 percent of churches with fewer than 200 members heard at least one sermon mentioning abortion during the study period, that percentage fell to 17 percent among churches with more than 200 members.

The Pew data sparked a variety of responses on social media.

Blogger’s Comment: It’s extremely disappointing that pastors avoid the issue of abortion. Many are fearful of offending or losing church members. They don’t understand how many women sitting in their pews are suffering from the pain and regret of aborting their baby. A survey from 2015 indicated 70 percent of women who had abortions identify as Christians.

For women in a crisis pregnancy, their church should be the first place they turn to for help. Brochures should be available about crisis pregnancy centers. They provide counseling, ultrasounds, housing and education before and after their baby is born, some for up to two years such as Legacy of Life. Hotline numbers to access counseling and locations of care pregnancy centers should be published in church bulletins. The National Right to Life  hotline is available 24/7.

Rachel’s Vineyard ministers to post-abortive mothers and fathers, siblings and grandparents through weekend retreats.  Silent No More reaches out to those suffering grief and regret after abortion by offering after-care abortion programs.

By remaining silent, pastors miss the opportunity to minister the love of Jesus to a teen or young woman in a crisis pregnancy. They also fail to share messages of God’s mercy, forgiveness and healing to post-abortive moms.

Elections Have Consequences; Vote Your Conscience 2020

ATTENTION PA VOTERS

In an effort to piggyback on a previous post from Ted Meehan, I want to break down some other ideas regarding what to do on June 2nd for the Pennsylvania primary and the 2020 General Election. This is going to be the biggest election since the Civil War era.

Vote in person

By now, many of you have heard about an effort to vote via mail. It’s a scam to lose your votes. Nancy Pelosi and her circle of pedophiles, swamp creatures, and godless communists will stop at nothing to remove President Donald Trump from office.

I can’t understand how people can stand outside to enter a supermarket or even an essential store to not wait in line to exercise their right to vote. Even Joe Gale fought this attempt. Inform your family members, community, and friends to not take part in this scam. VOTE IN PERSON!

The PA primary is Tuesday, June 2nd. The deadline to register for the primary is May 18th. Absentee ballot deadline is May 26th.

Volunteer

This should not only apply to PA voters, but everyone who lives in key states that can play a crucial role in bringing real changes to Washington.

Help those who are running for office. There are candidates for the statehouse and senate along with Congress. You’re looking at 88% of seats up for grabs. Democrats control the House of Representatives. As we have seen in the last two years, they have to regard to the protection of human life at the moment conception until natural death, religious freedom, and the stellar work the current administration has done. The magic number is 218 as the House of Representatives is made up of 435 from all fifty states.

Be sure to visit Susan B Anthony to learn how you can do your part.

BE BOLD

  1. Share about candidates who vow to put God, freedom, and life on the platform of public office. Some candidates, in particular, are: Kathy Barnette, Andy Meehan, and Nick Freitas.
  2. Share pro-life messages on your social media outlets
  3. Take part in Twitter campaigns
  4. Pray in front of abortion facilities
  5. Be willing to engage with dialogue with friends and family regarding the pro-life issue. Remember you have a duty to instruct the ignorant whose mind is blind.
  6. Hold your elected officials accountable in how they vote on all culture of life issues
  7. Recruit new members from your church, college campus, and even those in your Knights of Columbus, parents who take their kids to school, etc. Be sure to train them on the dos and don’ts while figuring out what talents they can bring.
  8. Encourage members of the clergy to be more vocal on pro-life issues.
  9. Write pro-life editorials for major newspapers
  10. Volunteer at pregnancy resource centers
  11. Donate money to pro-life charities

The Hypocrisy of Pro-Abortion Governors

It should come as no surprise that many governors who claim to be Catholic are choosing their self-interest over the faith of others.

Here is  a rundown of every so-called Catholic governor so far

Andrew Cuomo- New York

Cuomo does not need a long introduction, but God knows that he is in the state of mortal sin as he continues to murder life from womb to tomb in the Empire State. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree as his father, Mario, labeled the idea that “I’m Catholic, but” which was backfired by Cardinal John O’Connor. Who dares to play God when it comes to human life?

Gina Raimondo- Rhode Island

She sent a letter to Barth Bracy, the executive director of Rhode Island Right to Life, about keeping abortion facilities open while churches are closed during the pandemic.

Gretchen Whitmer- Michigan

Whitmer is a feminist. A tween from 2018 recently surfaced that shows her wearing a pink hat that reads, “Planned Parenthood makes America Great”. Oh, really? Then why have 61 million Americans been murdered by the largest abortion chain? She even barred purchasing American flags while allowing abortions to happen in her state. Read more here

Tom Wolf- Pennsylvania

Wolf volunteered for Planned Parenthood in his early days. He even is their best friend. Observe

tom wolf PP Escort

What is appalling is, like many of his esteemed colleagues that have turned states progressive, he deemed abortion as “essential service” while many businesses in the commonwealth are suffering. Even with a red house and senate in the Keystone State, Wolf has vetoed pro-life bills, but they will be overridden.

Ralph Northam

Dr. Ralph Northam has been the subject of many news headlines. What is so disconcerting about him is the fact that a former pediatrician who dares to play the inconsistent card when it comes to human life. One example is his viewpoint on infanticide.

Bottom line: elections have consequences and those that have refused to defend the most precious must be voted out.

Translating the Gospel of Life into the culture

The following is from Tom Stevens, CEO and President of the Pro-Life Union of Greater Philadelphia.

The last time I led the monthly Bible Study that I do for the ladies at Guiding Star Ministries Home for Single Pregnant Moms and Children, I made a handout.  It included an artistic graphic I made with a scripture verse on it.   It happened to be Ash Wednesday … so I used a simple translation of Mark 1:15, “He said, “The right time is now here.  God’s kingdom is very near. Change your hearts and lives, and believe the Good News!”  To make it attractive to the ladies I put flowers, a heart, and a butterfly on the image.

Why?  Why are we trying to translate the Gospel of Life into something that might be relevant and attractive to residents of a maternity home, or to customers at an abortion center, or anywhere we go?  Because the Good News of the Gospel of Life changes hearts and minds when and if received. Then it changes decisions, actions, and behaviors.  Heart, mind, and behavior change is required to bring an end to abortion, euthanasia, and every attack on the Sanctity of Life. It’s up to us to do our best to bring the Gospel of Life to the culture.

How can we best translate the Gospel of Life to reach the “unreachable”?  To reach an urban culture where sex is without boundaries or covenant and single moms having babies sometimes is worn as a badge of honor, or an avenue to welfare; to a suburban culture where self, convenience, self-help, and pleasure are gods … and all where abortion is seen as a simple and quite acceptable option?  This is THE question often on my mind.  As I stand in front of an abortion center or create a social media post, or sit in a meeting … HOW CAN WE REACH the confused, broken, hardened, untouchable, churchless, and traumatized who are having abortions?  HOW CAN WE BE IN their world/culture/sphere WAY BEFORE pregnancy, abortion clinic appointment, abortion?  Be part of the answer… join a Pro-Life Union team. Small Rally Cut Short By Visit from Law Enforcement; Planned Parenthood Unhinged and Is Still Open

Though a small rally was planned with at least six people it was cut short.

Despite Pat’s efforts, the police department has ordered the disbandment of the less than ten people gathered for stream stations of the cross and prayer.

Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood continues to murder innocent children while the nation is in the middle of a pandemic.

In the meantime, the Catholic clergy is mainly silent. I can only imagine what it was like for Jesus when many of his closest friends abandoned him while he was journeying to Calvary.
