Abortion Group Offers Pre-Paid Gas Cards to Women Traveling for Abortions

The pilot program is going to be run through the National Abortion Federation Hotline’s Dr. Tiller Patient Assistance Fund.

The following article by Karen Townsend of hotair.com reports on the ‘incentive’ the National Abortion Federation offers a woman to abort her unborn baby.

An abortion group has some big news for women who must travel to get an abortion – how about a pre-paid gas card to help pay for the woman’s expenses? I thought the ghoulish pursuit of abortion tourism was bold enough when I wrote about that back in June, but the trend continues.

Remember the good old days when religious leaders encouraged a culture that protected life and the most vulnerable among us? The person tasked with spearheading a program that will issue pre-paid gas cards to women burdened with traveling to deliberately end their pregnancies is … a female Episcopal priest. The Very Rev. Katherine Ragsdale is the interim president and CEO of the National Abortion Federation (NAF). The NAF is an organization of abortion providers which began in the United States and now has expanded to Canada and Australia as well as many European countries and Mexico.

The inspiration for more giveaways from pro-abortion advocates is due to the passage of pro-life legislation in several states in recent months. The motive behind the offer of free gas to travel to an abortion clinic is “to ensure that patients can obtain care quickly and with dignity”, according to the press release. “Dignity” is not a consideration offered up for the unborn life, apparently.

The pilot program is going to be run through the NAF Hotline’s Dr. Tiller Patient Assistance Fund. Dr. Tiller is an abortionist who was killed in 2009. The fund “honors the legacy” of Dr. Tiller. His legacy is that of an abortion provider, especially late-term abortion, in Witchita, Kansas.

The cost of the actual abortion procedure is only one expense women must manage when they need an abortion. Since there are a limited number of providers and states continue to impose additional restrictions, many women have to travel long distances to reach the closest provider who can help them. And this situation will only worsen as the political environment continues to become more hostile toward abortion rights.

According to a recent report by the Guttmacher Institute and Advancing New Standards in Reproductive Health (ANSIRH) at the University of California, San Francisco, if Roe v. Wade were overturned or weakened, increases in travel distances would likely prevent 93,500 to 143,500 individuals from obtaining abortion care.

To help address this issue and ensure that patients can obtain care quickly and with dignity, NAF is piloting a program to give pre-paid gas cards through its Hotline’s Dr. Tiller Patient Assistance Fund. The Dr. Tiller Patient Assistance Fund primarily helps cover travel-related expenses for women seeking abortion care. This fund honors the legacy of long-time NAF member, Dr. George Tiller who was murdered by an anti-abortion extremist in 2009.

Theater Cancels Screening of Pro-Life Movie ‘Unplanned’ after Threats of Violence from Pro-Abortion Activists

By John Ellis
P J Media

Producers of the anti-abortion movie Unplanned won a hard-fought battle to get their movie screened in Canada. Now, though, pro-abortion activists are beginning to resort to threats of violence to stop the film. Shamefully, the threats of violence appear to be working. A theater in Salmon Arm, British Columbia, has canceled a planned five-day run of the movie after receiving violent threats against theater staff.

A story published in Kamloops This Week broke the news:

Salmar Community Association board member Chris Papworth confirmed on Thursday, July 4, that the board has agreed to pull the movie’s five-day run, which was set to begin on July 12 at the Salmar Classic. He said the difficult decision to cancel the film was made out of concern for the personal safety for Salmar Theatres management, who had received personal threats via social media.

Papworth goes on to detail that the threats involved doxing the theater general manager and then encouraging people to “go after them.” He added, “We just aren’t prepared for those levels of hostility towards our general manager.”

After the theater canceled the screenings, the Shuswap Pro-Life Society, the group that sponsored the movie, announced that they will be looking into hosting private viewings of Unplanned. While they understand the theater’s decision, Shuswap Pro-Life Society spokesperson Hildegard Krieg told Kamloops This Week:

If they had just come out to picket while the movie is running, I could accept that. But I cannot accept that they should actually threaten somebody with violence personally and the family. That is absolutely uncalled for. A peaceful picket, OK, we walk through the picket line. But that is going too far.

Krieg is right. Threatening people with violence over a movie you disagree with is “uncalled for.” I’ll go a step further and say that it’s reprehensible. However, considering that the pro-abortion activists support the murder of pre-born humans, it’s not surprising that they believe it’s okay to threaten people with violence.

Pro-Life Summer Reading List

It is that time of the year where we all go to the beach, the mountains, take a flight to another city, picnic in the middle of nowhere, and going where the roads will lead us.

I have put together a top 10 (plus a few honorable mentions) pro-life summer reading list that can help keep promoting and learning from many pro-life heroes of the past while also polishing up on pro-life dialogue and also learning how to defend life form the moment conception until natural death.

Meanwhile, reading about how prominent pro-choice figures walked to the other side and build a culture of life. Not only did I include anti-abortion stories, but I have included books that cover every life issue. After all, we must be consistent if we are pro-life by remembering the marginalized, victims of war, immigrant, and even wrongly convicted criminals imprisoned and or on death row.

1) Persuasive Pro-Life Trent Horn

Published in 2014 and using his first-hand experience during campus visits, CatholicAnswers.com’s own Trent Horn shares first hand some of the dos and don’ts in engaging and challenging pro-choicers’ viewpoints.

2) Unplanned Abby Johnson

Once a rising star for Planned Parenthood, Abby Johnson saw firsthand a defenseless life being killed by an ultrasound-guided abortion in 2009. She recalled the times she saw volunteers for 40 Days for Life pray in front of her work at Bryan, TX. It would soon lead her to be a pro-life advocate and a Catholic convert.

3) Single Candles Brendan Lyons

West Chester, PA native Brendan Lyons writes a series of narratives from a chain of events that link several characters, all of whom demonstrate compassion and bravery in their commitment to the sanctity of life. In one piece, a senator defies his own political party; in another, a neonatal surgeon is asked to compromise her principles. Although the stories are fictional, the passion that informs the characters’ conviction is very real.

4) Rising with Roses Monique Ruberu

Dr. Monique Ruberu thought she was pro-life until she realized that she was prescribed birth control. Because of the help of many pro-lifers in Philadelphia, she reverted back to her Catholic faith and now promotes Natural Family Planning.

5) A Voice for Victoria: A memoir of healing from post-abortion trauma- Geraldine F Jacobs

A Voice for Victoria shares the author’s journey toward understanding how childhood messages and current events played a part in her abortion decision and path to healing from post-abortion trauma through God’s forgiveness.

6) The Future of Assisted Suicide and Euthanasia Neil Gorsuch

Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch thoroughly assesses the strengths and weaknesses of leading contemporary ethical arguments for assisted suicide and euthanasia. He would argue against the legalization of euthanasia and assisted suicide while using Netherlands and Oregon as prime examples.

7) Johnny Got His Gun Dalton Trumbo

This anti-war novel, written in 1938, shares how a WWI soldier who wakes up from his hospital bed with no limbs and half destroyed face. After his wishes of showing the country of the horrors of wars, he reflects on the realities and myths of war.

8) All Quiet on the Western Front-  Erich Maria Remarque

A German veteran of WW1 recounts the physical and mental stress while fighting in the war. It also shares how to detach from civilian life they were following the war’s end.

9) Racketeer For Life Joe Scheidler

A former monk recalls his early involvement in the pro-life movement. He has debated media personalities, politicians, abortion workers, and even fought the culture of death at the Supreme Court.

10) Gosnell: The Untold Story of America’s Most Prolific Serial Killer- Ann McElhinney

Ann McElhinney details everything that happens inside of Kermit Gosnell’s house of horrors in the Mantua neighborhood of West Philadelphia. Even advocates on both sides were horrified at the heinous committed by the most notorious serial killer of the abortion industry.

Honorable mention:

The Hand of God- Dr. Nathanson hared how he found God and began promoting life after performing 61,000 abortions, including his own son.

The Anti-Mary Exposed: Rescuing the Culture from Toxic Femininity- Carrie Gress

It’s been 50 years, if not more since liberal feminism has given way to the slippery slope to our culture. The author exposes liberal feminism and how it has destroyed marriages, families, and even the use of sex.

40 Days for Life- David Bereit

Started as a small group outside of the Planned Parenthood in Bryan, TX, this life-changing endeavor recalls how it has converted workers, changed hearts, and shut the doors of abortion facilities with prayer, love, and fasting.

Humanae Vitae- Pope Paul VI

Written in 1968 and celebrating over 50 years, the encyclical Humanae Vitae is an eye-opening read written by Pope Paul VI as he foretells the repercussions of a society that accepts sexual promiscuity, abortion-on-demand, and artificial birth control.

Hard list to put together, for sure. However, there are many pro-life books to read such as anything written by Scott Klusendorf, Ron Paul, Fr. Frank Pavone, Janet Morena, Janet Smith and so many more.

Teenager Makes Viral Response to Miley Cyrus with Message of Adoption

Adoption Cake

Photo courtesy of Hannah Rickords Facebook page

By now, many of us are outraged by the stunt pulled by pop and teen idol, Miley Cyrus.

Does she realize that she is part of the problem of how many people are being exposed to the promiscuity in our culture?

Recently, Hannah Rickords, a young woman in her late teens countered Miley’s Facebook sharing her adoption story.

Read below:

Miley,

You teamed up with Planned Parenthood to share a message…

Here’s mine.

20 years ago, my biological mother walked into her Planned Parenthood pregnant and not sure where else to go. Measuring over 20 weeks, she was told they could move forward with termination. When she explained she wasn’t there for that kind of procedure, it was explained to her that was all the only help she could receive there.

My birth mom wrote:

“All I wanted was help. For someone to see me for the terrified young woman I was. I wanted someone to hold my hand and tell me everything was going to be okay. I quickly learned that this was not the place for that kind of reassurance. The woman quietly, but firmly, said she was sorry she couldn’t help me.”

If that day she had chosen abortion as her plan, I would not be here today. Regardless of what argument you could have of when life truly begins, if that day in that Planned Parenthood, a young girl was swayed to terminate, I would not be here.

Miley, what about my healthcare? What about the millions of people that will never see the light of day because “abortion is healthcare?”

As an unborn child, there wasn’t much I could do to contribute to society, but now as a 20-year-old being, I have been able to touch the lives of hundreds through a conference I held and my original music.

I am grateful every single day that my birthmother chose another plan for me.

I am grateful every single day that an adoption is an option.

Take action by sharing her photo on her social media platforms today. Adoption Story

Interview with Culture of Life 1972 Apparel

COL 1972

Recently, I interviewed the founders of a clothing line that is responding to the trend of clothing companies supporting Planned Parenthood. The interview is below.

What is the name of the clothing line?

COL1972 was created around our family dinner table. 1972 Is the final year we enjoyed a culture of life in the United States of America. In 1973 the supreme court ruled that are tiniest Americans did not have the right to life. Since 1973 61 million Americans have been denied the right to life. We would like to get back to celebrating all life as we did in the year 1972.

Where are you headquartered?

We are in Pennsylvania. We are a family business that just launched a January 2019 for sanctity of life month.

You are responding to a common trend that clothing lines are donating to Planned Parenthood. Does it make you counter-cultural? How?

Yes. We are proud to be countercultural. Our brand applauds life.

We are tired are pointing to what we are against. We think sharing what we are for is more beautiful and powerful.

You have a big power player as your ambassador for your organization? Who is it? What prompted you or her to represent your line? We are thrilled the author of Unplanned, Abby Johnson, has graciously accepted to be our global ambassador. She understands that ‘Life is always in style.’ She also understands that we should be using every medium possible, including Fashion, to share how amazing the culture of life crowd is!

Discuss some of the clothes you have on sale currently.

We are street chic. We are launching our Abby J Collection the end of June. It will be our contemporary business collection. Classic pencil skirts, crisp white button downs and much more! We believe modesty is the new black!

You plan to support pro-life causes. Any in particular? Yes. Our family had always given back. We practice something called tithing. It is very traditional but we give back to organizations that support our faith and core values. 10% of each purchase goes to a Culture of Life event or organization. We were able to sponsor the March for life and students for life conference this year amongst other COL events.

What is your hope for your clothing line as you move forward? We pray our clothing is used to incite civil and productive conversation about protecting the life’s tiniest moment to it’s final breath.

If someone is interested in learning more or purchasing your products, where can they find you?

Delaware County Church Vandalized

Notre Dame de Grace Parish in Swarthmore was vandalized over the weekend by pro-choice vandals.

The graffiti has since been cleaned up at a Delaware County church, but now the search is underway for the vandal.

On Sunday, parishioners at Notre Dame de Lourdes in Swarthmore, Pa. spotted graffiti on the front glass doors and a side brick wall that included the words, ‘You do not have the right to decide what people can do, #ProChoice.’

This is what we are up against. Unhinged and violent pro-choicers who would cry, complain, whine, and even resort to violent confrontations in order to get their point across. On the other hand, pro-lifers rely on prayer, fasting, education, and even works or mercy to build a culture of life.

People constantly put the will of God aside for things of this world, like comfort.

God did not put us here for comfort, He put us here for greatness.Notre Dame de Lourdes

Ambulance Shows Up Hours Later Outside Same Planned Parenthood Rally Took Place

Safe, legal, and rare? That’s the biggest lie of the abortion industry.

Just hours following a rally against State Rep. and his bullying, an ambulance stops to take a woman to a nearby hospital after a botched abortion attempt.

See the video here

Here’s more from Operation Rescue:

Nearly 1,000 pro-life supporters had gathered in front of a Philadelphia Planned Parenthood abortion facility on Friday, May 10, 2019, to protest the bullying of pro-life activists by State Rep. Brian Sims.  But after the protest was over and the crowd had cleared the streets, an ambulance was dispatched to that same Planned Parenthood facility.

One pro-life supporter, Antonio Calimano, captured the incident on video.

At approximately 3:00 p.m., an ambulance arrived at the Planned Parenthood facility on Locust Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Emergency responders can be seen in Calimano’s video pushing a woman in a wheelchair out to the ambulance.  She was loaded into the ambulance’s side door before being transported, apparently to a nearby hospital.

“We question whether this Planned Parenthood delayed calling an ambulance for this woman until after they thought all the pro-lifers had left for the day.  It certainly wouldn’t be the first time a Planned Parenthood delayed calling for emergency medical assistance,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue, which documents such emergencies at abortion facilities.

“This is another example of just how dangerous abortions really are.  Planned Parenthood tells the public that abortions are the safest ‘procedure,’ yet hundreds of documented medical emergencies at the abortion facilities themselves debunk that false narrative,” said Newman. “We pray that every abortion facility in America is closed down so women and their babies will no longer suffer from the barbaric practice of abortion.”

[This is a developing story. Stay tuned for updates as we get them.]

Recap on Daily Vigils, Weekly Sidewalk Servants Sign-Up

Deb was at 777 appletree last Saturday praying to end abortion and handing out blessing bags… A young Spanish speaking girl approached the building. Deb spoke to her in Spanish and offered her help. The girl expressed that she would rather get help than end her pregnancy. Deb contacted the Community Women’s Center instantly and set her up for an appointment on Monday. Then she picked her up on Monday and took her to the appointment. At the appointment, this beautiful girl was loved and supported, and now she is definitely choosing life. If Deb was not there… if that hour was empty… if that young girl never encountered her and never learned about the help available… she would likely be mourning instead of rejoicing and preparing for her child.

You make the difference! Please be there to pray and offer help to these women and babies who need us… Let’s fill every hour this week! let us know if you need instructions before you go.

We will make sure that there are resources available, and if you have any questions at all before you go contact us for instructions.
