Recap on Daily Vigils, Weekly Sidewalk Servants Sign-Up

Deb was at 777 appletree last Saturday praying to end abortion and handing out blessing bags… A young Spanish speaking girl approached the building. Deb spoke to her in Spanish and offered her help. The girl expressed that she would rather get help than end her pregnancy. Deb contacted the Community Women’s Center instantly and set her up for an appointment on Monday. Then she picked her up on Monday and took her to the appointment. At the appointment, this beautiful girl was loved and supported, and now she is definitely choosing life. If Deb was not there… if that hour was empty… if that young girl never encountered her and never learned about the help available… she would likely be mourning instead of rejoicing and preparing for her child.

You make the difference! Please be there to pray and offer help to these women and babies who need us… Let’s fill every hour this week! let us know if you need instructions before you go.

We will make sure that there are resources available, and if you have any questions at all before you go contact us for instructions.

Recap on Stand Against Bullying Rally

The hard work of many pro-lifers, such as Lila Rose, has paid off. After hearing about the videos of a so-called “State Rep.” Brian Sims harassing pro-life women was met by a thousand loving pro-lifers. Not only local pro-lifers came together but some went the extra mile (the furthest being Fort Wayne, IN. as of now).

The rally was organized by Lila Rose and her organization Live Action. Her group has helped expose Planned Parenthood from falsely advertising mammograms to the trafficking of fetal parts and everything in between.

Rose noted in her opening remarks that the event had been organized “for a much bigger reason … (to) stand for the dignity of human life,” this point was reiterated by other speakers who followed her during the rally.

Matt Walsh of the Daily Caller called for a rally in a series of tweets on Twitter. He even condemned the actions of Brian Sims.

Ashley Graechet

Ashley Garecht, the mother of the two teenage girls dox by Sims, used her time to commend pro-lifers who have done extraordinary work, despite backlash from people who disagree with them. She even knew that God wanted her to be an instrument in being present as a sidewalk advocate. She also observed that the demonstration took place just blocks from the one-time home of James Madison, a primary author of the U.S. Constitution, which enshrines “a self-evident, inalienable right to life,” she said. She also called out Rep. Sims for his lack of an apology.

In the videos, Sims claimed that pro-lifers are racists. Well, he hasn’t met Richara Krajewski, member of the Pro-Life Union of Greater Philadelphia. She used her time to acknowledge the fact that she is “a pro-life black woman”.

The real racism, as she points out is, “co-opting the language of liberation to advocate for the destruction of the lives of the most vulnerable. Real racism is a so-called white ally telling black and brown women that they need to choose between their dreams and their babies.”

Toni McFadden was another black pro-lifer at hand who shared about her abortion experience. Foundress of Relationship Matters, an organization that helps heal and honor our relationships, spoke about how it is important to develop them “so that no more babies need to die because of convenience.”

The main highlight of the rally is Abby Johnson, former Planned Parenthood Director in Bryan, TX, now a pro-life advocate. she wrote a memoir about her #WalkAway from the abortion industry. It is now a movie.  Johnson opened her remarks when she saw the escorts acknowledging the fact that she was once them.

She pointed out some staggering facts about the Planned Parenthood (See related post here: Planned Parenthood Facility in Center City, Defended by Re. Brian Sims, Has Failed Thirteen State Inspections) has “covering up statutory rape of minors, not sterilizing instruments that are being used woman to woman” and repeatedly failing health inspections.

“Turn your prayer into action. The fight against abortion will be won on the streets, not the halls of Congress or state houses” Johnson proclaimed.

The rally itself shows that the pro-life community is bigger, stronger, younger, and diverse. It cares about women. It is eager to help women in their time of crisis. Many moms, including Candace with her son, was able to choose life because of the love and support of the pro-life community at large.

The pro-life movement is pushing back harder. The tide has changed. We must be willing to stand taller and be bolder everywhere we go.  We must not be afraid of anti-life bullying from public servants or average people that will verbally taunt us when we peacefully assemble outside abortion facilities, like Planned Parenthood.

The sleeping giant has awakened. It’s time to rose up and fight for life from womb to tomb.

Rep. Brian Sims Doxxed for Teenage Girls Information On Holy Thursday; Father Responds

Rep. Brian Sims is making a name for himself in an unpleasant way. Last week, he harassed an elderly woman who was by herself quietly praying the rosary outside of Planned Parenthood in Center City. See article here: Open Season on Philly Pro-Lifers. as Representative Brian Sims Leads the Charge

Another video has surfaced going back to Holy Thursday of Rep. Sims outside of the same abortion facility. This time doxxing his followers for information on a pair of teenage girls from one local high school praying in front of the facility. Sims asked his followers to release the names and addresses of the teenagers in exchange for $100.

In response to Rep. Sims raising funds for Planned Parenthood, the father of one of the girls that was doxxed by the so-called “representative” takes action. He sets up a go fund me page to raise money for the Pro-Life Union of Greater Philadelphia. As of now, 30k has been raised with a goal of $100,000.

These attacks are proof that Christians are among the wolves of the world in the form of atheism, communism, radical Islam, and big government bullies.

Rally Against Bullying

All are asked to step out onto the sidewalk for a peaceful demonstration this Friday. Kristan Hawkins, Abby Johnson, and Matt Walsh are slated to speak at this event. Read more here: Stand Against Bullying

Abby Johnson to Protest Planned Parenthood Facility

Six weeks ago, Abby Johnson’s movie Unplanned hit theaters. It became a hit among pro-lifers and pro-choicers. It got people to think.

Like many people in Philadelphia, myself included, are outraged by the actions of Rep. Brian Sims. There is a way we can respond to it. Abby confirmed on her Twitter account that she will be participating in a protest outside of Philadelphia’s largest Planned Parenthood facility this Friday, May 10th.

The event starts at 11AM at Planned Parenthood located at 12th & Locusts Streets.

Come out and stand in solidarity for the unborn and to stand against hate brought about by an elected official.

PBS Frontline Features Local Pro-Lifers

*The following is a review of Frontline’s latest episode that documented the abortion debate in Philly area; 36 years after it’s initial episode. Mark Harrington of Created Equal took time to put the episode under review. It was used with his permission.

In 1983, a decade after the Roe v. Wade decision, FRONTLINE went inside an abortion clinic on the outskirts of Chester, Pennsylvania and filmed Abortion Clinic.

Almost four decades later, FRONTLINE returned to Pennsylvania to film FRONTLINE’s latest documentary, The Abortion Divide, which aired on April 23rd.

Here are my takeaways from the film:

• Transition to medical abortions: The key difference explored in the film is the availability of a non-surgical method of killing babies: RU-486, often called “the abortion pill.” In the film two women — Taryn and Megan — begin the process of a chemical abortion. They take one pill in the clinic and will take another at home. Of course, unlike in the movie unPlanned, the film doesn’t show what happened when the cramping and bleeding began!

• Abortion reality: The film shows the aftermath of a 6-week surgical abortion in the pathology room but covers over the flask containing an aborted baby killed in the procedure room. Oddly, the film tries to have it both ways by showing abortion but not really showing abortion since 6 features of week aborted babies are generally not recognizable due to be torn up through high powered suction catheter.

• Abortion pill lies: The complications and process of medical abortions are minimized in the documentary. One of the abortionists, Dr. Rebecca Mercier, says, “A medical abortion procedure is very similar to inducing a miscarriage. It is safe for women to do up to ten weeks of their pregnancy.” However, Dr. Anthony Levatino, a former abortionist, begs to differ. In a Live Action video, Dr. Levatino discusses the failure rates, risks, and adverse effects (i.e. abdominal pain, vomiting, heavy bleeding, and maternal death) from medical abortions.

• Ultrasounds matter: Despite some criticism of the Heartbeat Bills and other legislation requiring an ultrasound before an abortion, the film demonstrates how requiring an ultrasound affects the decision to abort.

• Pill reversals work: Dr. Monique Ruberu, an obstetrician-gynecologist who opposes abortion and counsels outside the abortion center, tells women who are exiting, “If you took the abortion pill, we can reverse it.”

• Restrictions on abortion facilities close clinics: Laws that require abortion facilities to meet the same requirements as ambulatory surgical centers closed eight abortion facilities in Pennsylvania.

• Authentic sidewalk advocates: Counselors are depicted as thoughtful, law-abiding, and sacrificial. One such counselor, George Asajiw, M.D., is shown taking at-risk families into his home.

• Pregnancy Resource Centers and homes for pregnant mothers are shown in a favorable light.

• Pro-lifers are vigilant: Now, with an abortion process that can begin by swallowing a pill, the film shows pro-lifers becoming more vigilant.

Dr. Ruberu says, “The RU-486 pill has completely changed the landscape of abortion, and it really necessitates that somebody is present outside of these abortion centers every single day, every hour that they’re open,” she says.

Finally, one of the most disturbing parts of the film is when Taryn, a mother of two who became pregnant with twins, says:

“What I hope I feel is a sense of peace, not only with myself and the decision that I’ve made but also a sense of peace with these two beings that I’ve chosen not to bring into the world. Thank you for choosing me. And I’m honored to be given this gift of life. I can’t do it right now. I can’t accept that mantle in terms of the other lives that I’m taking care of and I’m responsible for.”

One thing is clear in the film, there is no getting away from the fact that abortion is sad and tragic despite the attempts of some abortion advocates to destigmatize it.

Considering the source, overall, the documentary is fair treatment of the abortion debate in America.

Prayer Vigil Outside of Planned Parenthood in Center City on Good Friday; Overcame a Small Counter-Demonstration

On Good Friday morning, 130 high school and college students joined seasoned pro-lifers in praying outside of Planned Parenthood in Center City.

The day began with a cloudy day and periods of showers. However, it never dampened their prayerful spirits. Moreover, there was a

The vigil began with the rosary. They meditated on the sorrowful mysteries of the rosary. After the recitation of the rosary, they were addressed by Dr. Monique Ruberu.

“Each of you are a light and will make a huge difference.” Ruberu declared. “You have the ability to touch hearts and minds with everyone you encounter with love through God’s will.”

The most profound thing that happened is overcoming the jeers and taunts from a counter-protestor from a radical pro-abortion group called Abortion Now. He would repeat common phrases of the old pro-abortion talking points like, “Abortion on Demand.” “Pro-Life is a lie. Women Die”. Despite all of it, the attendees kept their composure.

Monique continues to shed light on what Planned Parenthood does and that is abortion “keeps their doors open.”

Monique encouraged everyone to do more by providing help to women with the needs that they do not have that keeps pushing to seek out abortion as the only option.
